Awards for Engineering Students 2017-18 $1000 Engineering Scholarships - MEDA Limited Two scholarships awarded annually, one each to a female and a male student. Applicants must be enrolled in Year 2 of Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (if there is no suitable candidate in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, a Year 2 student in Electrical Engineering may be considered) and will be considered on the basis of academic standing (a minimum cumulative average of 75% is required) and interest in a career in the automotive field. Preference given to children of employees or clients of MEDA Limited. Apply on-line. $20,000 Windsor Green Engineering Scholarships ($2,500 x 8 terms) Up to four scholarships awarded annually to full-time first-year students who have chosen Environmental Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (Environmental option) Eligible candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) meeting OSAP requirements for residency and financial need. Based on academic excellence. Candidates must have a minimum 80% overall entrance average from high school or college, and must maintain a minimum cumulative average of 75% while in the Environmental Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (Environmental option) program. Apply on-line. $20,000 Yves Landry Memorial Scholarship ($2,500 x 8 terms) Up to four awards will be available to students entering directly from an Ontario High School, in either the Business Administration or Engineering programs. Based on scholastic merit (minimum scholarship average of 85%), proven leadership potential through school and/or community involvement. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status), residing in Ontario with demonstrated financial need. The award may be renewable in subsequent years of study provided the student maintains a minimum cumulative average of 80% and has proven financial need. This scholarship was established in 1998 in honour of the memory of Yves Landry, former executive head of Chrysler Canada. Apply on-line. Alison J. Edwards Award - Sponsored by ENWIN Utilities. Awarded annually to students registered full-time in Years 2, 3 or 4 in the Faculty of Engineering. A minimum cumulative average of 76% is required. Financial need and community involvement will also be considered. This award was established in 2003 in memory of Alison J. Edwards. Apply on-line. Andrew Angadsingh Bhullar Bursary Value: up to $500. Interest from this trust will support an annual award for a fourth-year Engineering student with financial need. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) in Ontario who meet Ontario Student Assistance Program Ontario residency requirements. William Morgan Scholarship Awarded annually to a student registered in Year 2, 3 or 4 in Engineering, on the basis of academic standing (minimum cumulative average of 80% required) and involvement in campus activities. Apply on-line. Cameron MacInnis Memorial Award The income from this fund will support an annual award for a qualified 2nd, 3rd or 4th year Engineering student. Award based on academic potential (minimum cumulative average of 73% required), community and/or faculty involvement, and demonstration of financial need. Preference will be given to applicants whose demonstrated interests and activities extend beyond the mere application of mathematics, physics and science (i.e. citizenship, arts and humanities). Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) residing in Ontario. This award recognizes the memory of Prof. Cameron MacInnis, a former Dean of Engineering, who devoted his personal and professional life to mentoring his students. Apply on-line. Canadian Federation of University Women Windsor Award (Engineering) Awarded to a full-time Year 2, 3 or 4 female Engineering student, based on good academic standing (minimum cumulative average of 73% required) and financial need. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status), meeting OSAP Ontario residency requirements. Carlo and Domenica Liburdi Memorial Award An annual award to an entering or second-year Engineering student. Applicants must have a minimum entering average of 75% or a minimum cumulative in-course average of 75%, and demonstrate financial need. Students must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status), residing in Ontario. Established in 1997 by Joseph Liburdi. Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Award Awarded to an outstanding student entering Year 2 in the Civil or Environmental Engineering program who combines scholarship with extra-curricular activities within the University or the community at large. A minimum cumulative average of 68% is required. Supported by the continuing donations of graduates of Chemical, Civil, and Environmental Engineering. Apply on-line. Consulting Engineers of Ontario-Essex Kent Chapter Award An annual award available to a year 2 or 3 Engineering student who demonstrates strong leadership qualities by participating in Engineering Society activities, engineering design competitions, and who has an interest in environmental issues and building science. A minimum cumulative average of 60% is required. Apply on-line. David Cornhill Alta Gas Scholarship Awarded to a full-time student in either the Faculty of Business, Engineering or Science, who has demonstrated financial

need. A minimum cumulative average of 83% is required. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status), residing in Ontario. Preference will be given to a student from the Chatham/Kent area. Apply on-line. DesRosiers Endowment for the Advancement of Automotive Studies Interest from this trust will support an annual award for a student in the Odette School of Business and a student in the Faculty of Engineering. Based on a minimum cumulative average of 83% and demonstrated financial need. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status), meeting OSAP Ontario residency requirements. Preference will be given to a student pursuing automotive studies in some capacity at the University of Windsor. Apply on-line. Dr. Sourindra Dutta Memorial Scholarship in Industrial Engineering Awarded to a full-time student registered in Year 3 Industrial Engineering, based on good academic performance (minimum cumulative average of 66% required), participation in professional activities related to his/her future engineering career and demonstrated financial need. The successful candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident (includes those with Protected Persons status), residing in Ontario. Apply on-line. Eric and Mary Elizabeth Nadin Memorial Bursary in Engineering Interest from trust will provide one scholarship annually to a year 2,3, or 4 student registered full time in the Faculty of Engineering who has demonstrated financial need. Frances and Gordon Halfpenny Memorial Scholarship One award granted annually to a full-time female student in Year 3 in the Faculty of Engineering. Based on academic standing (cumulative average of 70-76.9%). Preference is given to a student in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Interested candidates must submit a short statement outlining what leadership means to them, along with past and/or current examples of their leadership abilities and/or outline how she plans to play a leadership role in her chosen field. Ewasyshyn Electrical Engineering In-Course Scholarship One award available annually to an Electrical Engineering student in Year 2, 3, or 4. Based on academic standing (minimum cumulative average of 73% required) and financial need. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status), residing in Ontario. Established in 2000 by friends and colleagues, in honour of Frank J. German Canadian Business and Professional Association Bursary Awarded to a full-time student registered in Year 3 or 4 in Business Administration, Engineering, or Computer Science participating in an academic exchange or co-op work placement in Germany. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status), have a minimum cumulative average of 78% and demonstrate financial need. Fall deadline: September 30. Winter deadline: January 30. India Canada Association Scholarship

Interest from this trust will support an annual award for a full-time, second-year student. Based on financial need and a minimum cumulative average of 78% (for students in Engineering, Nursing, and Science) or 80% for students in all other faculties. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) who meet OSAP Ontario residency requirements. Preference will be given to students who have shown involvement in activities associated with Indian culture. Apply on-line. John William Beveridge Award Interest from this trust will support an annual award for a full-time undergraduate Engineering student in any year of study. Based on academic merit (minimum entering average or in-course cumulative average of 75%) and community involvement and/or an academic interest in arts or social sciences. The award was established in memory of John William Beveridge, an Engineer with a love of the arts and social sciences. Apply on-line. Mary Penfold Award Awarded annually to a second, third or fourth year Business or Civil Engineering student. Based on good academic performance (minimum cumulative average of 72%), as well as participation in sports or extra-curricular activities. Established in 1997 by Mr. & Mrs. Louis Scodeller in memory of their daughter. Apply on-line. Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education Entrance Scholarships Two scholarships are awarded annually -- one to a male and one to a female student entering Year 1 in the Faculty of Engineering. Consideration is given to both outstanding achievement in academics and involvement with school and community-related activities. Established in 1988 by the Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation (engineersfoundation.ca) Apply on-line. Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education Undergraduate Scholarships Four scholarships are awarded to students registered in the Faculty of Engineering in Year 2, 3 or 4. Based on high academic achievement and demonstrated leadership through involvement in professional affairs and extra-curricular activities. Financial need may also be a consideration. Established by the Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education (engineersfoundation.ca). Apply on-line. Peter Fast Memorial Bursaries Six bursaries of $1500, two each to students registered in Years 2, 3, and 4 in the Department of Electrical Engineering. A minimum cumulative average of 73% is required. To be awarded on the basis of financial need. Lavigne Memorial Scholarship One award will be given annually to a student taking courses in Transportation Logistics, Internal Logistics (Operations Management) and/or Supply Chain. Based on academic performance (minimum cumulative average of 75% required) and demonstrated financial need. Established in memory of Robert J. Lavigne, former traffic manager at Hiram Walker, an individual who was passionate about logistics and transportation and a staunch supporter of local shippers. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status), meeting OSAP Ontario residency requirements. Apply on-line. Rockwell International Bursary in Civil and Environmental Engineering Two awards each will be awarded to second, third, or fourth year students on the basis of financial need and academic performance. Extra-curricular activities will also be considered. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative average of

72% and be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) residing in Ontario. Apply on-line. Stantec Consulting Award - Civil Engineering Awarded to a full-time undergraduate student in second year and beyond registered in Civil Engineering. Based on good academic standing (minimum cumulative average of 72%) and proven financial need. Candidates should demonstrate involvement in the Engineering Society and/or bettering Engineering education at the University of Windsor in addition to recent volunteer activities in the community. Recipient must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) who meet Ontario residency requirements. Apply on-line. Tom Akeley Memorial Award Awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate Engineering student. Based on character, scholastic potential (minimum cumulative average of 73% required) and demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to applicants whose minimum cumulative average in Arts and Humanities courses demonstrate a scholastic interest and ability that extends beyond mathematics, physics and applied sciences. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) residing in Ontario. This award honours the memory of Prof. T.C. Akeley of the Faculty of Arts who took an interest in the academic development of engineering students that extended far beyond the norm. Apply on-line. Tony Soda Memorial Scholarship Awarded annually to an outstanding student entering Year 2 of Civil Engineering. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative average of 73%. Consideration also given for financial need and extra-curricular activities. Established in 1993 by family and friends in memory of Tony Soda, M.A.Sc., civic-minded engineer-contractor and educator. Apply on-line. Windsor Construction Association Bursary The income from this fund will be used to provide support to a full-time undergraduate student. Preference will be given to students in the Faculty of Engineering. Eligible candidates must maintain a good academic average (minimum cumulative average of 72% required), must be Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status) residing in Ontario, who demonstrate financial need. Windsor Port Authority - Jack Atchison Award Awarded annually on the basis of academic standing (minimum cumulative average of 73%) and financial need, to a student registered full-time in Year 2, 3 or 4 Environmental Sciences or Civil & Environmental Engineering, with major area of study concentrated in marine environment or Great Lakes issues. Award recipient will be invited by the Windsor Port Authority to the annual marine dinner where a presentation will be made. Award cannot be held concurrently with the other Windsor Port Authority award. Apply on-line. Windsor Port Authority Award Awarded annually to a student registered in the Environmental Sciences or Civil and Environmental Engineering with major area of study concentrated in marine environment or Great Lakes issues. Based on good academic standing (minimum cumulative average of 73% required) and financial need. Award recipient will be invited by the Windsor Port Authority to the annual marine dinner where a presentation will be made. Award cannot be held concurrently with the Windsor Port Authority - Jack Atchison Award. Apply on-line. Windsor Utilities Commission Civil Engineering Award Value: $2500. Awarded annually to a full-time Civil Engineering student registered in year three with a minimum cumulative average of 78% and demonstrated financial need. Must be residing in Ontario, with preference given to a

Windsor-Essex Chapter - PEO Bursary Awarded annually to a Year 2 student registered in the Faculty of Engineering, who has completed her/his high school program in a Windsor or Essex County High School. Based on good academic standing (minimum cumulative average of at least 60%) and demonstrated financial need. Apply online. Windsor-Essex County Engineering Week Award An annual award for a student in Year 3 Engineering. Candidates must have a minimum cumulative average of 60%, show commitment to their studies, and demonstrate leadership skills through community service and involvement with other students. Apply on-line. Xerox Graphical Communications Award Awarded to a Year 2 Engineering student who has completed the first year Engineering and Design Course. Based on financial need. Candidates must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents (includes those with Protected Persons status), meeting OSAP Ontario residency requirements. Of the applicants who qualify for consideration, the award will be granted to the student who receives the highest course grade. Apply on-line.
