ABOUT THE COURSE A company secretary is a senior position in a private company or public organisation, normally in the form of a managerial position or above. The company secretary ensures that an organisation complies with relevant legislation and regulation, and keeps board members informed of their legal responsibilities. Company secretaries are the company s named representative on legal documents, and it is their responsibility to ensure that the company and its directors operate within the law. It is also their responsibility to register and communicate with shareholders, to ensure that dividends are paid and to maintain company records, such as lists of directors and shareholders, and annual accounts. Career Prospects for Company Secretary? As per the Companies Act, 1956, every company with a paid-up share capital of Rs. Ten crores or above has to appoint a whole time Company Secretary. A Company Secretary can: 1. Get employment in Government account or Law Departments. 2. become a chairman or Managing Director of a company or be a part of esteemed board of a company. 3. Become an expert in corporate laws, Securities Law & Capital Market, and Corporate Governance. 4. Chief Advisor to the board of Directors on best practice in corporate governance. 5. Eligibility: The minimum eligibility to gain entry in the Foundation Course is a pass in 10+2 examination or its equivalent in any stream. Candidate who has enrolled for the 10+2 examination can apply with the proof of passing the examination within 6 months. Student of any discipline in Arts, Commerce and Science (excluding Fine Arts) can pursue Company Secretary Course. Different Stages of Company Secretary Course: A candidate need to clear 3 stages to qualify as Company Secretary and these are: 1. Foundation Programme. 2. Executive Programme Module 1 and 2. 3. DETAILS OF THE PROGRAMME Limited students per batch To see to it that all students are personally attended to and that there is individual focus of teachers on each student we have limited the number of students in each batch. Personal attention to every student. Since there shall be limited students per batch, progress of every student shall be closely observed to help the students recognize their strengths & weakness in order for them to excel. Doubt solving sessions There shall be doubt solving lectures on regular basis for students to communicate and clarify their doubts. Qualified and Experienced Faculty All the teachers appointed at SK Tutorials are Qualified and have at least 5 years of teaching experience in their respective subjects. Email and SMS update to parents Parents shall be regularly updated on the progress of their child. In case a student does not attend a lecture, the parent shall be informed on the same day via SMS/Email. Interactive visual Learning Certain topics (mostly theoretical topics) shall be taught with the help of visual aids. (eg: PowerPoint Presentations, Videos, Images etc.)
Regular tests & Revision Sessions There shall be regular tests and revision sessions for all the students. 10 th and 12 th standard students shall have weekly tests along with at least 3 prelims. Question papers of the same shall be uploaded on the website. Parent Teacher Meeting PTM shall be conducted two times in a year.
ADMISSION AND FEES DETAILS Students have to submit the admission form with 2 recent passport size photos. Payment of fees has to be made in cheque. Cheque should be made in favour of SK Tutorials. For payment in installments, admission fees and post dated cheques for the remaining installments shall have to be submitted at the time of admission. A fine of Rs. 150 shall be payable in case of any default of cheque. Service Tax shall be payable on the fees as per the relevant rate (any changes in rates shall have to be borne by the students). Students shall be required to wear their ID Cards when in the premises. Students without ID card shall not be allowed on the premises. In case of loss of ID Cards duplicate ID cards shall be issued on payment of prescribed fees No refund of fees shall be made under any circumstances whatso-ever, unless on the discretion of the management.
