NOTRE DAME COLLEGE Changing the World One Student at a Time Transfer Guide for Cuyahoga Community College Updated Fall 2011 Notre Dame welcomes CCC transfer students! This guide provides information to assist Cuyahoga Community College students in selecting courses for meeting applicable General Education and Major requirements at Notre Dame College under NDC s 2010-2011 Catalog. Transfer credit is awarded for all college-level coursework (numbered 1000 and above) in which a grade of C or higher is earned. Bachelor s degree requirements include earning a minimum of 45 semester credits of upper level (300 and 400) coursework. Sometimes a community college course is counted as fulfilling a content requirement of Notre Dame even though the Notre Dame course is a higher-level course. Please note, however, that no upper level credit is granted for the transferred course. No course can count toward two general education requirements. A major cannot be earned at NDC without some courses from the major taken at NDC. For clarification of NDC s requirements, call the Advising Center at 216-373-5383. NDC Requirement Written Composition ENGL 1010 and 1020, or 101H and 102H Oral Composition SPCH 1010 Information Systems IT 1010 Fine Arts ART 1010, 1040, 1050, 1080, 1700, HUM 1010-1030, MUS 1010, 1020, 1030, 1040, 1050 Literature ENG 2020,2310, 2320, 2350, 2360, 2410, 2420, 2430, 2510, 2520, 2700, 2710, 2720, 2730 Scripture-Inclusive Theology No Equivalent Philosophy PHIL 1000, 1010, 1020, 2020, 2031, 2040 or 2050 Cross Cultural-International Studies ANTH 1010, 2010, ASL 1010, 1020, 1100, 2010, 2020, ENG 2510 ENG 2520, GEOG 1010, GEOG 1050, HIST 1700, 2030, 2080, PHIL2010, POL 2060, SOC 2550, MUS 1050, WST 1510, Any foreign language course numbered 1010 or higher Science BIO 1040 and 104L, 1050 and 105L, 1060 and 106L, 1100, 1300 1500, 1510, 2331, 2341, 2500, CHEM 1010, 1020, 1300 and 130L, 1310 and 131L, ESC1310 and 131L, 1410 and 141L, 1510 and 151L, 1610 and 161L, PHYS 1210, 1300, 2310, PSCI 1010 and 101L, 1020 and 102L, 1030 and 103L Mathematics MATH 1250, 1410, 1470, 1510 and 1521, 1580, 1610 Social Sciences ANTH 1010, ECON 1210, 1220, 2610, 2620, any HIST course, any POL course 3 credits or more, any PSY course 3 credits or more, any SOC course 3 credits or more, SSCI 1030, 1040 Health and Wellness HLTH 1100, 2500 NDC Core No Equivalent Page 1 of 5

It is important to remember that the requirements to earn a degree are based upon the catalog that is in effect at the time of your first semester or term of credit enrollment at Notre Dame College. Consulting the current NDC catalog or a CCC Admissions Counselor is strongly recommended when planning an academic program at Cuyahoga Community College that will make for a smooth and beneficial transfer to Notre Dame College. Please keep in mind that NDC awards only lower-biennium credit for transferable community college coursework. Listed below are CCC semester-credit courses equivalent to specific NDC major requirements. These courses are listed by department. Please use this guide in conjunction with the Notre Dame catalog for more information on majors within each department.
