6. You will not be able to select an alternate test event. Choose the GRADE LEVEL of the students you are testing. If you are testing students across multiple grade levels during the same period you will need to setup individual test sessions for each grade level. Finish this process for the first grade level and repeat for each additional grade level. 7. Select the TEST GROUP. There should, in most cases, be only one choice. However, you must select it. 8. Select TEST LEVEL. There should, in most cases, be only once choice. However, again, you must select it. 9. Select the subtest that your group will be working on. 10. Select the TEST ADMIN TYPE. In most cases there will only be one choice. Riverside Testing - Creating a Test Session Step by Step - J. Jobe, September 2013-5
11. Make up a session name. Each session must have a unique name. The name you use to name a session doesn't really matter, but it must be unique. It only needs to be something that you will remember/recognize long enough to start the test. Something like MrsWhiteGr5ReadingPt1 works well. Sessions expire (can not be re-opened or used) 24 hours after being launched. All students in a class/grade do not need to be a part of the same session. You can make up as many test sessions as you need. Make up testing, for example, usually requires new sessions to be generated for small numbers of students and specific subtests. 12. Find the name of your session in the CREATED SESSIONS list. Note the SESSION CODE for your test session. You will need to write this code in a highly visible place for the class to see. Students must enter the session code as part of their login. Click the NAME of your session to start/launch the test session. Remember, sessions expire 24 hours after being launched. You can run more than one session at one time from the same proctor station. Riverside Testing - Creating a Test Session Step by Step - J. Jobe, September 2013-6
13. Approve students. Students will go to https://riversideonlinetest.com to login. They will need to know their FIRST and LAST NAME as it is in PowerSchool, their birthday, and the session code for the session you created to login. As they login you will see their names begin appearing in the WAITING FOR APPROVAL area. Once all students are in the WAITING FOR APPROVAL area click the APPROVE ALL button to start their test for them. If one or two students are having difficulty you can start the test for the rest of the class and then approve the one or two that are having difficulties as their problem is solved. They will not be penalized for time on timed tests as each computer will run its own timer. Stay on the PROCTOR SESSION status screen to watch student progress/completion. If the proctor session screen does not update on its own every so oftenpress CTRL+R on Windows or COMMAND+R on the Mac to REFRESH the screen. If the PROCTOR SESSION screen gets stuck completely you can exit the browser, restart your computer, log back in, and go back to the PROCTOR SESSION screen without students being interrupted. VERY IMPORTANT: Students must click the final button (FINISHED/END/DONE) at the end of the test or their test is not scored. Riverside Testing - Creating a Test Session Step by Step - J.
