Eligibility Criteria: a. Age: Minimum 18 and maximum 27 years as on 30.12.2009. {last date (normal date of closing )of receipt of applications}. Relaxation in upper age limit is applicable upto a maximum of 5yrs and to reserved category viz. SC/ST/OBC (Non- Creamy layer) in terms of Govt. of India rules, i.e., 10 yrs for SC/ST & 8 yrs for OBC. The concession in age relaxation will be available only to those sports persons who satisfy all other eligibility conditions relating to educational qualification etc. and furnish a certificate from the authorities and the form prescribed in ANNEXURE-II & III respectively. b. Educational, Other requisite Qualifications:- For LDC For Peon E.Q. Higher Secondary Pass (pass in 12th Standard) or its equivalent from a recognized Board of Education. Madhyamik Pariksha (10th Standard) Pass with English as one of the subject from the recognized board of education. Other Qualification Knowledge of Typewriting, with a speed of 30/25 w.p.m., in English/Hindi, respectively. Working knowledge of computer, including use of Office Suites and database. -- For the post of LDC :- The relaxation in terms of Type writing / Computer Skill test will be allowed initially to the candidates recruited under Sports Quota, subject to acquire the same within two years from the date of appointment, otherwise they may be terminated from the services of ESI Corporation. After appointment of the candidates, annual Increment will not given upto the passing Type Writing test as well as Computer Skill test as per rules till the expiry of two years/probation Period. The candidates have to be cleared/passed Computer Skill test during their Probation Period; otherwise, they may be terminated from the services of ESI Corporation.
c. Sports Qualifications: - For the above posts, the candidates should have represented the country in an International competition/state in a National Competition/University in an inter-university competition with distinction / State schools in the National Sports / games of Schools/awarded National Awards in Physical Efficiency under the National Physical Efficiency Drive. Selection Procedure a. All eligible candidates should apply in the prescribed format given on or before the last date for receipt of applications. Applications received after the last date will not be considered. b. Selection will be made on the basis of the guidelines/ instructions issued by Department of Personal & Training, Govt. of India. The ESI Corporation reserves the right to change or alter the Scheme of Selection/examination as and when required depending on the numbers of applicants and other factors. The candidates will be posted initially in the offices of ESI Corporation in West Bengal Region. They may be transferred to anywhere in India. 3. The following testimonials should be attached with application form duly completed in all aspects. (a) Two copies of recent passport size photographs duly attested by a Group A /Group B /Gazetted Officer with one photograph firmly pasted on the application form. (b) Attested copies of certificates and testimonials in support of proof of age, Date of birth, Educational qualification, Sports Qualification, Experience (if any) etc. (c) Attested copy of Community Status Certificate in the prescribed form in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/ OBC(Non-creamy layer) category.
