GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS Each student must have a minimum of twenty-one (21) credits for graduation. A student must receive full credit for the following courses: 2011-2013 2014 and Later English 4 credits 4 credits Mathematics 3 credits 4 credits (1 unit Algebra II or equivalent) Science Social Studies 3 credits(1 credit Life Science 1 credit Physical Science 1 credit from any Science) 3 credits (1 World Studies credit, 1 American History credit (Financial Literacy); ½ credit Government studies) 3 credits (with lab experience including: 1 credit of Biology 1 credit Physical Science 1 credit of Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Physical Geology or other Earth or Space Science) 3 credits ( 1 World Studies credit, 1 American History credit ((Financial Literacy); ½ credit Government Studies) Health ½ credit ½ credit Physical Education ½ credit (2 semesters) ½ credit (2 semesters) Fine Arts 2 semesters Electives 7 credits Electives must include 1 credit or 2 (1/2 credits) in BUSINESS, TECHNOLOGY, FINE ARTS, OR FOREIGN LANGUAGE. 6 credits Testing Must pass all 5 areas of the Ohio Graduation Tests Total 21+ credits 21+ credits Note: Must satisfactorily complete a senior project and the revised state assessment test as well as possible state mandated end-of-course exams *All students must complete 10 hours of Community Service anytime following their Junior year. Honor Roll Students who have a grade point average * of 3.50 to 3.74 at the end of each nine-week grading period. *NOTE: For the Class of 2015, the grade point average (GPA) will include all classes appearing on the students transcripts.

HOT TOPICS Appointments If your child needs to leave for an appointment during the school day, please send a note with your child stating the time they are to be dismissed. Your child needs to turn the note into the attendance office prior to the start of the school day. If you are unable to send a note with your child prior to school you must come into the school and physically sign your student out. Athletics Your child needs to be passing 5 full-time classes to be eligible to play in athletics, PE does not count in athletic eligibility. If your child attends athletic events the school student code of conduct applies. Cell Phones- Please DO NOT text your child during school. The office will be glad to relay any messages your child may need. Your student will be subject to discipline regardless of whom they are texting. Theft We are not responsible for the security of your child s electronic devices or personal property. Fees Course fees are assigned to certain courses in the high school that require extra materials to complete the course. Please make yourself familiar with which courses require a fee. Your child will be held accountable for their books, locks, and any school-owned supplies. A fine may be assigned if your student fails to maintain accountability.
