Biography for: Robert Scott ROBERT SCOTT Canadian Modernist painter Robert Austin Scott was born May 16, 1941 in Melfort, Saskatchewan. He completed his initial studies at the Alberta College of Arts, receiving a diploma in Applied Arts in 1969, and received his Masters in Visual Arts from the University of Alberta in 1976. Following his graduation, Scott taught art, notably as a sessional instructor with the University of Albertas Department of Art and Design until 1991. He has exhibited extensively throughout Canada and internationally, and has received numerous awards. Scott has attended many workshops internationally. He is also a passionate social advocate; particularly contributing his efforts to upgrading skill sets in the developing world.
