Over 130 participating universities from the UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Europe and Asia. ESF University Fair 2013 Wednesday 23 January 2013 Island School Borrett Road Hong Kong
To all Year 12 students, Welcome to the ESF University Fair 2013! Students who are attending this event will greatly benefit from meeting and discussing their university courses options with the experts. Our thanks go to Island School for hosting this event year after year. We look forward to seeing each one of you. This year s fair will have over 130 participating universities, higher and further education institutions from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Europe and Asia. Before the actual fair, it is important that you identify the country(ies) you are considering for your tertiary education. Are you aware of the differences in character of the education systems in each country? It is also a good idea to do preliminary research on the course or courses that you are interested in. We suggest that you consider a wide range of universities to match your expected achievements and areas of interest. If you are unsure at this stage what you wish to study, use the fair to ask universities what courses could be suitable for you, in light of the subjects that you currently enjoy and study. Please do not simply collect leaflets or brochures. Instead, use this opportunity to gather information based on your research. Take away only materials that you think would be useful in making your decision. It is the conversations that matter in the context of a fair. Attached to this guide is a list of participants. Highlight universities you would like to speak to prior to the fair in order to help you use your time wisely. We have prepared a list of questions to help you get started when speaking to the university representatives. It might be helpful to highlight those that are applicable to you. Ask whatever question you may have which might help you decide where you would like to apply. All questions are possible so please don t be embarrassed to ask. The representatives will be there to help you. A number of universities will be represented by alumni. They will be able to give you a great sense of what it is like to study at that particular university. Upon your arrival at the fair you will be given a guide showing where each participating institution is located. This fair is for you! ESF students are very privileged to have choices from higher education institutions worldwide. Make sure you plan ahead and use this opportunity to help you make informed decisions about your future!
