Today we face at all levels of life a connected world, where we need global learning competencies and multicultural experiences. GES, the Research and Development Department for Technology Enhanced Learning at Galileo University in Guatemala, Latin America, is working towards the FP7 Target outcome Learning in the 21st Century the challenge FP7 Objective ICT-2009.4.2 Technology-Enhanced Learning Projects in this challenge need to be proven in a global environment, in order to get complete results, also require experienced partners in the consortium with large scale pilots and testbeds capacity and research background. 1

Who we are: Galileo University is one of the top technological universities in the region with over than 180 academic programs, more than 50 distance learning centers, joint programs with government institutions and corporate organizations, and a regional academy of Cisco and Microsoft. Experience in sub-project leadership of technology integration, in European and Latin American joint projects. Over 10 years of experience in Technology Enhanced Learning projects, national and international awards for research and innovation. Track on relevant European projects results for this call: iclass, icampus, ELEKTRA, APOSDLE, GRAPPLE, ROLE, others. Our objective High speed connectivity to Geant & Internet2 through Red CLARA. Partners of dotlrn (LMS) Consortium, with international leadership in Open Source learning technologies and communities. The experience of working with a goverment entities supporting online learning programs, providing technical frameworks and methodological developments of virtual courses, training, design, creating animated and interactive elements, content assembly, etc. With target participation of over 100,000 users.... is to join a consortium that needs: Global competitive large-scale pilots and a professional partner with research capabilities in pedagogical & technological extended learning environments that will allow the participation of a wider community. 2 For five years we have been working with over 10,000 K12 students across the country for a lifelong learning program, in information society areas. 3

An strategic location in Latin America for co-ordination and orchestration with other institutions in Latin America, providing a large zone of global context to enhance large-scale pilots. Testbed in groups with different cultures, languages and background education to ascertain learning innovations effectivity. Administration of University LMS installation with over 140,000 students on it. Students resident in over 10 different countries.
