About The Meeting Masters of Tumor Ablation: Learn from the Experts is an advanced program presenting guidance in understanding the expanding field of interventional oncology including energy sources, embolic pharmaceuticals, treatment planning, fusion imaging, and navigation. Pioneers in the field will share their expertise and experiences. Faculty will discuss basic physics, along with protocols, techniques, tips, organization methods, and clinical applications. The program will also cover combination therapies, expanded clinical applications, and potential complications. There will be several opportunities for open discussions among the faculty and audience allowing for ample opportunity for questions. Attendees are requested to bring at least one challenging case for discussion. Target Audience The CME activity should be of interest to and benefit interventional radiologists, surgeons, oncologists, nurses, hospital and radiology administrators, radiology technologists, and radiology residents and fellows. Educational Objectives Attendees should, at the completion of this course, be able to: Discuss the indications, contraindications, and complications for tumor ablation procedures in interventional oncology. Describe the various organs and tumors for which ablation treatments are appropriate. Explain the basic physics of radiofrequency, microwave, electroporation, and cryo ablation. Explain the set-up and operation of an ablation system. Discuss which interventional treatment is most appropriate for the patient.
