Items from our AT Library for Reading (T-TAC/ODU) Early Literacy - Software Early Literacy Learning to Read WordMaker Using a pool of letters, students make many different words using various letter combinations. Students drag letters to blanks, then click the checkmark to get feedback. Students hear an auditory prompt to make a word. Students receive word walls of the words they have mastered. This program provides phonics, phonemic-awareness and spelling activities to build students' core reading strategies. Early Literacy Learning to Read Lessons introduce new word families and sounds with voice, text and graphic support. Students drag onsets and rimes to the correct position to complete words. Students are challenged to transfer what they have learned to new words through spelling and sorting activities. Stage 1 and Stage 2 Simon Sounds It Out Sentence Master Four different computer activities: Word Recognition - select the word that matches the example at the top of the screen. Sequential Recognition - select all instances of a particular word in the order normally read. Language Master The Language Master system is an unique audiovisual learning aid which has helped millions of children throughout the world to develop their language and reading skills. Reading Tools Low Tech Assortment There are many low tech tools that can be used as teaching strategies or AT that we have available in our library. Reading filters - easy to use and carry around and are valuable for tracking as well as color needs. Colored Overlays - color filter for making contents visible and easy viewing. Highlighter tape - Highlight any text, then remove the tape without damage. Erasable Markers Use as highlighters, then erase when finished. You scan and it types. Instantly enter text, numbers and handwritten numbers into any PC or Mac application. Great for note taking. A fast and accurate pen scanner. Requires USB port. Iris Pen The reading pen will allow definition of a single word at a time from a printed page. It is a large pen with an LCD display and small buttons on the shaft of the pen.
