Anglia News We are now in the middle of the busiest period of the year with thousands of exams taken at the moment in Cyprus, The Netherlands, Italy, Morocco, Greece, Vietnam, Macau, Spain and the Xplore activity camps in several beautiful venues around the UK. Networking meeting at the German embassy. On 20th May, Sebastiaan Posma visited the residence of the German ambassador in The Hague for a networking meeting. The meeting was attended by Dr. Reiner Haseloff, Minister President of the Saxony-Anhalt state in Germany as well as other business people from both the Netherlands and Germany. It was a very successful event and many useful and important contacts were made.

Fresh from the printer Yesterday we took delivery of the Step To Primary book. This means that there are now eight Step To books available to order, from Primary up to Masters level. The First Step and Junior level will be available later in the summer.

News from Cyprus On Sunday 24th May, the new updated exams took place in several locations in Cyprus for the first time. Robert Piernikarski had an opportunity to observe the sessions in Paralimni and Nicosia where hundreds of students tested their level of English. The exams were very well organised by our representatives who are always searching for ways to continuously improve. Robert also visited private language schools GNOSIS INSTITUTE, CHARICLIA INSTITUTE HERODOTUS INSTITUTE and finally to G.P. ASPROU INSTITUTE, where speaking examinations were taking place. The visit was very fruitful; direct conversations with teachers, speaking assessors and representatives helped with gathering valuable feedback. The next examination session takes place in June and it is the largest on the island. Approximately 15,000 candidates from all districts will sit their Anglia examinations.

Ibero-American Network News Anglia Certificate Presentation Ceremony The last days of April and the whole of May were packed with Anglia Certificate Presentation Ceremonies in several countries within the Network. The Anglia local representatives, together with the local agents in various regions, have attended numerous ceremonies and personally presented certificates to the November / December 2014 exam candidates. Ceremonies took place in Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Peru and Colombia. Congratulations to all candidates on their success! Forthcoming Exams Sessions within the Network June, July and August will also be very busy months as there will be exam

sessions being held in Spain, Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. We warmly welcome Instituto Luis Silva in Guadalajara, Mexico, whose students will, for the first time, be taking an Anglia Exam. Once again, Academia Go in Ibiza, Spain, will be having their students take an Anglia Exam as part of their end-of-year assessment. The English Centre College of Languages in Almeria, Spain, has once more made every effort to keep spreading the Anglia word in Spain. Professional Development throughout the Network Since the beginning of March this year, we, as the Anglia and Chichester College s Local Representatives throughout the Network, have had stands at a large number of ELT-related events, either organized by ourselves or by other providers. We will not stop attending these truly valuable professional development events as, among others, they offer fantastic opportunities for networking with colleagues from several parts of the globe.

FAAPI Conference 2015 Once again, FAAPI, the largest Conference in Argentina for teachers of English which gathers participants from several countries in Latin America and abroad, will be held in mid September, and this year we will not only have a stand at the event, but Susan Hillyard, one of the ELT gurus based in Argentina, will be offering a plenary session at the Conference on behalf of Anglia, AIM Awards and Chichester College. Susan will be presenting on Diversity, Inclusion and the Speaking, Learning Body in ELT. We are sure we will be making a great contribution to this year s FAAPI Conference. Forthcoming workshop by Chris Kunz As part of our ongoing Professional Development Programme, our Director, Chris Kunz, will be offering a brand-new workshop for English language lovers on 27th June, at the Anglia Central Exams Office in the City of Buenos Aires. Make sure you book your seat well in advance as places are filling fast.

University Recognition We would like to take this opportunity to welcome Instituto de Educación Superior Dardo Rocha - Resistencia, Chaco and Instituto Sedes Sapientiae - Gualeguaychú, Entre Ríos as the two most recent institutions in Argentina which recognise and accept Anglia Exams as sufficient proof of the level of English of their students and applicants. News from Anglia Network Europe Slovenia This week, Arnold Augustijn and European Projects Coordinator Katarina Killibarda, were in Slovenia to attend the Anglia Introduction Event, hosted by the Faculty of Education in Ljubljana. Over 25 teachers from various Slovenian schools and colleges were present to learn more about Anglia Examinations, our Summer Schools, the teacher visits and our new High Five projects. We officially welcomed the First Anglia Network Europe Member School in Slovenia.

Croatia During our Slovenia trip we crossed the border and visited several new schools in Croatia. We have been working in Croatia for many years and we are determined to expand our Anglia activities in this region. Ukraine Last week, we also visited Ukraine. During our visit to Uzhorod schools we were invited to a student performance of Huckleberry Finn. A group of eight pupils acted out the key scenes in an animated and impressive way. It showed their good level of English and their interest in international literature. Talking to various Ukranian teachers and students in the schools it became clear that they are seriously interested in Anglia.

English Summer Schools Barcelona kids will come to Amsterdam in August 2015 to join our English Summer Schools. There are more international students, from various countries including China, Taiwan, Slovenia, Italy and Kosovo. Never before have we had so many international visitors, a good result of close cooperation with various local partners. News from Bulgaria Anglia Examinations is excited to be taking part in its very first BETA- IATEFL conference. This annual conference celebrates its 24th year on the weekend of June 6th-7th in Sofia, Bulgaria, and is preceded by a preconference event on June 5th. Organised by the Bulgarian English Teachers' Association and the University of National and World Economy, the aim of the conference is to inspire and motivate teachers and educators, while making them aware of the latest innovations in teaching publications, techniques and tools. It hosts speakers in the top ranks of the EFL field from all over the world and a book exhibition featuring major EFL publishers. A programme of social events, including a chance to visit some of the local sights, allows attendees to form and build relationships with fellow professionals. The theme of the conference as a whole is "Celebrating variety: making the most of your teaching and learning context", while the pre-conference event is entitled "Innovative and Collaborative Practices in Teaching and Researching Language for Specific Purposes" and will be conducted in English and Bulgarian. The University of National and World Economy is situated at the foot of the beautiful Vitosha Mountain, surroundings which encourage the spirit of learning and cooperation the conference aspires to.
