Sysco Interactive University (SIU) Introduction Sysco Interactive University (SIU) is an award winning, online corporate university used to manage and deliver quality, cost-effective learning resources. SIU training is available to all Sysco associates at no charge. Resources SIU offers the following free resources to all Sysco associates: Resource Online Courses Classes Curricula Certifications Resource Library Sysco e-meeting Description Self-paced training offered online Classroom-based training sessions which can be tracked in SIU Note: To find out of a Class can be tracked in SIU, contact the SIU team using the contact information at the end of this guide. Job-specific groupings of online courses and classes created to align skills and knowledge for particular roles across Sysco Groupings of online courses and classes that are supplemental to job-specific training Database of free learning tools and documents Free online meeting tool Note: Refer to the Sysco e-meeting guides in the Knowledge Base for additional information. Availability SIU is housed in Talent Central on the Learning (SIU) page. Access is available 4/7 to all Sysco associates who want to take training. To access SIU learners need the following: Internet access Network ID Network Password Profile in SAP (Sysco s HR database of associates) Note: Contact SBS Support for Sysco network ID and password information. 4

Need to Know News The News window shows important information about SIU. This window appears automatically upon first accessing SIU. Select the Do not show this page every time I sign in checkbox to prevent the window from appearing every time SIU is accessed. To reopen the window, click the News link in the Links tile. Note: If the News window reappears after selecting the Do not show checkbox, the information has been updated. Learners should review any new information in the News window before closing it. System Updates SuccessFactors, the software behind Talent Central, performs regular maintenance to keep the system operating effectively and has quarterly releases of new features and enhanced tools. Learners may see SuccessFactors Scheduled Maintenance Notification windows upon access to Learning (SIU) alerting users of any upcoming maintenance. These notification windows should be read in their entirety to be fully informed of important information. 5

Need to Know, Continued Delivery Types There are five delivery types for training. Delivery Type Online Class Curricula Certification Survey Icon Description Self-paced online courses, including off-the-shelf content from Skillsoft and custom Sysco content Classroom-based training sessions which can be tracked in SIU Note: To find out of a Class can be tracked in SIU, contact the SIU team. Job-specific groupings of online courses and classes created to align skills and knowledge for particular roles across Sysco Note: Curricula can be assigned automatically based on job role. Groupings of online courses and classes that are supplemental to job-specific training Note: Certifications can be self-assigned by the learner, recommended or required by a learning admin, or recommended or required by a manager. Series of questions which allow SIU to improve the learning experience for all Sysco associates Note: Surveys are required for course completion. 6

Need to Know, Continued Areas of Study Courses can fall into one of three areas of study. Area of Study Business Desktop Technical Description Professional & organizational development courses - topics include: Coaching Customer service Defensive driving Human resources Management Safety Desktop applications training - topics include: Adobe Photoshop Microsoft Office Consumer finances Digital photography Lotus Notes Productivity Technology Technical skills training - topics include: Application development (with Java/.NET/VB & more) E-Commerce Microsoft Databases Networking Oracle Windows/Unix/Linux server administration Assignment Labels Each delivery type has a label denoting the assignment method. Assignment Label Required Description Assigned to the associate by their manager, by a learning admin, or based on job role as training required for the associate s job or to meet Sysco compliance Recommended Self-Assigned Note: Managers receive notifications for overdue required training. Assigned to the associate by their manager, by a learning admin, or based on job role as suggested training for the associate s development Assigned by the associate 7

Accessing SIU Navigate to SIU To go directly to the Learning (SIU) page in Talent Central, navigate to http://siu.sysco.com. Notes: Talent Central uses a single sign-on feature so learners who are connected to the Sysco network do not need to log into the site for access. Links to Talent Central and Learning (SIU) can also be found in the Sysco Associate Portal. 8

My Learning Assignments Collapsed View The My Learning Assignments tile defaults to the collapsed view for a quick glance of training status. There are three groups shown in this tile: overdue, due next, and due later. Group Overdue Due Next Due Later Description Courses that have not yet been completed and are past their assigned due date Courses that have an assigned due date and are due within the next 7 calendar days Courses that have a due date more than 7 calendar days out or do not have a due date Each of the groups has a circle in the top-right corner with either a number or a checkmark. Inside the Circle Checkmark Number Meaning There are currently no items in the group that require attention The number of items in the group that require attention Tip: Click the group icon to expand the tile and see which learning items need attention. 9

My Learning Assignments, Continued Expanded View The expanded view of the My Learning Assignments tile shows a full list of items requiring attention. Icon Expand tile Collapse tile Note: Expand/collapse icons are located in the top-right corner of the green title bar. From the expanded view learners can: Expand/collapse each due date group Start a course Continue a previously started course Drop a course Access additional course details Recommend training Notes: When a curriculum is assigned, the individual required courses display in the My Learning Assignments tile. When a certification is assigned, the certification displays in the My Learning Assignments tile as a singular item. 10

My Learning Assignments, Continued Filtering While in the expanded view of the My Learning Assignments tile, learners can filter their list of learning items. This allows learners with a very long list to find specific training more quickly. Follow the steps below to apply filters to the My Learning Assignments tile. Expand the My Learning Assignments tile by either clicking the Expand Tile icon or clicking one of the groups which has items that require attention. 1 3 Click the Filter link from the top-right corner of the green title bar. Filter the items by: Entering a course name or ID in Keyword Selecting a training type from the All Course Types drop-down list Selecting an assignment type from the All Assignment Types dropdown list Result: Only training meeting the criteria of the filters displays. Training List Views While in the expanded view of the My Learning Assignments tile, learners can change the view by selecting the view icons in the top-right corner of the green title bar. View Card Item View Shows the learning item with some course and assignment details List Shows the item with minimal details 11

My Learning Assignments, Continued Launch Online Course Follow the steps below to launch an online course from the My Learning Assignments tile. 1 Expand the My Learning Assignments tile. Click the START COURSE button. Result: The course launches in a new window. Notes: See the Search and Register for Online Training section of this guide for instructions on finding and registering for online courses. Courses that were previously started and closed show a CONTINUE COURSE button. Classes Associates are registered for classes by their Class Admins so they should not search or register for classes. Associates who are enrolled for a class will see the class appear in their My Learning Assignments tile. No further action is required by the associate attendance will be marked by the Class Admin. When an associate is registered for a class, an email is sent from the SIU system to the associate with class details, including date, time, location, instructor, etc. Note: If an email does not appear in the associate s inbox, check the Junk and Clutter Outlook folders. If the email was not received, contact the Class Admin. 1

My Learning Assignments, Continued Drop Online Course Associates may need to drop a course for a number of reasons, including: Material no longer applies to job role Registered for wrong course Registered for wrong language Follow the steps below to drop an online course. 1 Expand the My Learning Assignments tile. Click the drop down arrow next to the START COURSE or CONTINUE COURSE button. Tip: Use filters to narrow down the training list. Click Remove. 3 Result: The course is removed from the associate s learning assignments. Note: Courses assigned to the learner as required by the system or a manager cannot be dropped. View Certification Requirements Certifications display as a singular training item in the My Learning Assignments tile. Follow the steps below to view the required training for assigned certifications. 1 Expand the My Learning Assignments tile. Click the View Certification button for the certification. Result: The certification status and required and optional courses display. Note: See the Search and Register for Certifications section of this guide for instructions on finding and registering for certifications. 13

My Learning Assignments, Continued Withdraw from Certification Follow the steps below to withdraw from a certification. 1 Expand the My Learning Assignments tile. Click the View Certification button for the certification. 3 Result: The certification status and required and optional courses display. Click the Withdraw button. 14

Catalog Search Overview The Catalog Search tile allows associates to quickly search or browse for training, including online courses, classes, curricula, and certifications. Narrow Search Results When browsing or searching for training, learners can narrow their results to make finding the training faster. There are three options to narrow results down using the Narrow Search bar on the left side of the Catalog Search screen. Option Description Delivery type Category Language and Continuing Education Subject Area Note: Check the Resource Library for a list of courses and CEU credits. Course creator/source Source Browse Training Follow the steps below to browse all available training. Click the Browse All link. 1 Result: The Catalog Search page appears with all available items. Locate the desired training. Tip: Use Category, Subject Area, or Source in the Narrow Search bar on the left to narrow down the results. 15

Catalog Search, Continued Search and Register for Curricula Follow the steps below to find and register for curricula. Enter a keyword or the curriculum title in the search field. 1 Click the Go button. Result: The Catalog Search page appears with available content matching the keyword or curriculum title. Tip: Use Category in the Narrow Search bar to show only curricula in the results. Hover cursor over the curriculum in the results area. 3 Result: A Self Assign Curriculum link appears. Click the Self Assign Curriculum link. 4 Results: The curriculum is added to the learner s My Curricula tile. All courses in the curricula area added to the learner s My Learning Assignments tile. Note: Curricula for which the learner is already registered will show Already Assigned. 16

Catalog Search, Continued Search and Register for Certifications Follow the steps below to find and register for certifications. Enter a keyword or the certification title in the search field. 1 Click the Go button. Result: The Catalog Search page appears with available content matching the keyword or certification title. Tip: Use Category in the Narrow Search bar to show only certifications in the results. Hover cursor over the certification in the results area. 3 Result: A View Certification link appears. Click the View Certification link. 4 Result: The certification information page displays with required and optional courses grayed out. Note: Certifications for which the learner is already registered will show Already Assigned. Click the Enroll button. 5 Result: The certification is added to the learner s My Learning Assignments tile as a singular learning item. 17

Catalog Search, Continued Search and Register for Online Courses Follow the steps below to search and register for online courses. Enter a keyword, the course ID, or the course title in the search. 1 Click the Go button. Result: The Catalog Search page appears with available content matching the keyword, course title, or course ID. Tip: Use Category in the Narrow Search bar to show only online courses in the results. Hover cursor over the course in the results area. 3 Result: links appear. Click the Assign to Me link to add the course to the My Learning Assignments tile. OR Click the Start Course link to launch the course. 4 Notes: Courses for which the learner is already registered show Already Assigned. Courses the learner has already started show Already Assigned and say Continue Course rather than Start Course. 18

Links Overview The Links tile includes links to important SIU and Sysco resources. The Links tile can be expanded and collapsed using the black arrow at the bottom of the tile. Link Descriptions The table below shows descriptions for some of the key links. Link Description 1. Contact SIU Team Opens a new email addressed to the SIU team. Resource Library Opens the SIU Resource library with learning documents and tools 3. Sysco e-meeting Opens the Sysco e-meeting website 4. Online Books (4x7) Opens the Books 4x7 website 5. SAP (Sysco Associate Portal) Opens the Sysco Associate Portal News Opens the news pop-up window Options and Settings Displays the associate s Learning (SIU) settings Reports Opens the list of available learner reports Note: The links in this tile are subject to change. 19

My Curricula Overview The My Curricula tile shows the due date status of curricula for which the associate is currently registered and provides quick access to a full list of registered curricula. To view a full list of registered curricula, click the pie chart area. Curriculum Details The curriculum details page includes a description of the curriculum and the list of required courses. Follow the steps below to access the curriculum details page. Click the pie chart area in the My Curricula tile. 1 Result: The Curriculum Status page appears showing a list of all curricula for which the learner is registered. Click the curriculum title link. Result: The curriculum details appear. Tip: Sort the list of curricula by selecting one of the table column headings. 0

My Curricula, Continued Remove Curricula Associates may need to remove a curriculum for a number of reasons, including: Training no longer applies to job role Registered for wrong curriculum Registered for wrong language Follow the steps below to remove a curriculum. Click the pie chart area in the My Curricula tile. 1 Result: The Curriculum Status page appears showing a list of all curricula for which the learner is registered. Click the Remove icon in the Remove column for the curriculum. Results: The curriculum is removed from the learner s curricula list. Any courses that were not yet started are removed from the learner s My Learning Assignments tile. Tip: Sort the list of curricula by selecting one of the table column headings. Note: Required curricula assigned by the system or a manager as required cannot be removed by the learner. If the learner believes they were assigned a curriculum in error, they should contact their manager. 1

History Overview The History tile shows learners a count of the courses completed by the learner within the last 30 days. Click the clock icon to show the titles of the courses completed within the last 30 days in the expanded view of the tile. Full Learning History List Follow the steps below to see a complete list of previously completed courses. Click the View All link. 1 Result: The Completed Work page appears showing the learner s full completed course history.

History, Continued Review Completed Courses Follow the steps below to re-launch and review previously completed courses. Click the View All link. 1 Result: The Completed Work page appears showing the learner s completed course history. Locate the desired course. Click the course title link. Result: A small window appears with course completion details and actions. 3 Note: The Print Certificate option will print an unofficial course completion certificate. This is not the equivalent of the SIU certificates distributed by the SIU team. Click the Review Content link. 4 Result: The course launches. Tips: Narrow down the list of courses by selecting a date range option from the Show Completions drop-down box and entering the appropriate dates. Narrow down the list of courses by selecting a status from the Status drop-down box. Search for the course by entering the course title (or keywords from the course title) in the Title field. 3

Spotlight Overview The Spotlight tile shows any courses being showcased as the monthly spotlight course as part of SIU s monthly spotlight contest. Note: Spotlight contest and additional contest information can be found in the Resource Library in the Links tile. Launch Spotlight Course Follow the steps below to review course details and launch a spotlight course. Click the star icon. 1 Result: The Spotlight tile expands to show title of the month s spotlight course. Click the course title link. Result: The course details page opens. Click the Assign to Me button to add the course to the My Learning Assignments tile. 3 OR Click the Start Course link to launch the course. Note: Spotlight courses cannot be dropped since this is a promotional tile. The course will change each month. 4

Recommended Overview The Recommended tile shows the number of courses that have been suggested for the associate. Recommendations can come from managers, peers, SIU Champions, HRBPs, or the SIU team. To view titles of recommended courses, click the lightbulb icon. Launch Follow the steps below to launch a recommended course. Click the lightbulb icon to show the titles of all recommended courses. 1 Click the course title link. Result: The course details page opens. Tip: Click the Flip icon in the top-right corner of the course icon to see who recommended the course and any notes sent with the recommendation. Click the Assign to Me button to add the course to the My Learning Assignments tile. 3 OR Click the Start Course link to launch the course. 5

Recommended, Continued Decline Recommended courses are not required so they can be removed from the tile. Follow the steps below to decline a recommended course. Click the lightbulb icon in the Recommended tile. 1 Result: The Recommended tile expands to show titles of all recommended courses. Click the Not Interested icon. Result: The course is removed from the Recommended tile. 6

Recommended, Continued Recommend Training There are multiple ways to recommend training. Anywhere a Recommend link appears will open the Recommend to Others window. Places the Recommend link appears include: My Learning Assignments tile ( in the drop-down list for courses and certifications) Catalog Search page Course details page Follow the steps below to recommend training to other associates. 1 Click the Recommend link. Result: The Recommend to Others window opens. Enter the name of the associate in the search field. Tip: A list of possible names appears while typing a name can be selected from the list instead of typing the rest of the name. Press Enter. 3 4 Result: The associate s name appears in the center of the window. Tip: Multiple associates can be recommended the training at one time. Enter additional names, if desired. (Optional) Enter a note or comment about the recommendation in the comment field. Click the Send button. 5 Result: The training and note appear in the Recommended tile for the selected associates. 7

Reports Available Reports Reports can be run to view personal training information. The table below provides descriptions of available reports. Report Title Curriculum Status Learning History Learning Plan Description Curriculum assigned to the associate and their curriculum status Learning history (finished items and curricula) with detail item events Learning plan of associate (personal docket of learning items and curricula) Access Reports Associates can run reports on their learning history, curriculum status, and learning plan. Follow the steps below to access a list of available reports. 1 Click the Reports link in the Links tile. Click the Expand icon to view available reports in each report category. 8

Reports, Continued Process Reports Follow the steps below to process a report. Click the Reports link in the Links tile. 1 Click the Expand icon to view available reports in each report category. 3 Click the report title link. Fill in any required or optional report parameter fields. 4 Note: These fields vary depending on the report being processed. Click the Run Report button. 5 Result: A new browser tab opens showing the status of the report processing. Allow the report to process. DO NOT close the new tab until the report is done processing. 6 7 Open or Save the report when prompted by the browser. Click the Close Window button to close the tab. 8 9

Resource Library Overview The Resource Library is a collection of SIU resources and learning tools. Click the resource title to access the corresponding materials. Note: Resources are subject to change. 30
