The information attached is designed to help you navigate the first few weeks of Michaelmas Term and to answer some questions that you may have. Exam Results IGCSE/GCSE Results Cambridge International Examination: Results will be available to view online at: https://myresults.cie.org.uk from 06:01 (UTC/GMT+1) on Tuesday 11 th August 2015. Students have been issued with login details for this site they can also access a copy of their login details from their drop folder on e-locker (SS-IGCSE Exams). Edexcel results: Results will be available online from 09:00 (UTC/GMT+1) Thursday 20 th August 2015 and for returning students a hard copy will be provided on the day. Students have been sent an email to their school email address with subject Welcome to ResultsPlus Direct. This will provide them with details of how to access their results. Students can email Miss Wilson: trish.wilson@dulwich-suzhou.cn if this email has not been received. Use of English The official language of Dulwich College Suzhou is English. Students are expected and required to use English in all lessons (other than foreign language classes). In addition, students are strongly encouraged to use English during breaks and between lessons. This is beneficial for the whole community. Form Tutor Students begin their day with their Form Tutor, who will deal initially with pastoral concerns as well as academic progress. You are welcome to liaise with the Form Tutor, who will have a good knowledge and understanding of your child and their progress. As the Form Tutor is responsible for registering your child s daily attendance, please remember to let them know if your child will be absent. If your child is late for school, or will be absent (maybe due to illness), please email: jerry.zhou@dulwichsuzhou.cn or call: 0512 6295 7540 by 8.15am. Please also make sure that if your child is late that they sign in at the main reception desk on the ground floor of Senior School. Your child s Form Tutor will email you a letter of introduction during the first week of term. (Please make sure we have your correct email address.)

In order to allay any fears we have a team of Friendly Faces around to help. These are students who remember what it is like in the first few days and will be on hand to help you and your child settle in. Just look for students wearing yellow smiley badges!

Houses Each child has been allocated a House, which they will be a part of for their school career. Our House Coordinator, Mr. Jamie Lally, (jamie.lally@dulwich-suzhou.cn) will keep you updated with events throughout the year. All homework will be recorded on www.myhomeworkapp and you will be able to sign in to your child s class to see the home learning that they have been given. Further details will be sent directly to you. Lockers All students in Senior School are allocated a locker in which to keep their belongings and P.E. kit. Students will be given a key at the beginning of the year. Replacement keys will incur a small charge. Students should ensure their belongings are locked safely in their locker. Please label all your child s belongings. Lost Property is situated just past Senior School Reception, to the left, under the stairs. General Equipment List Students are responsible for bringing the correct equipment to school each day. This includes: Appropriate exercise books for the day s lessons Writing equipment (blue or black pen and a pencil) A sensible size bag to keep books and equipment in Maths equipment (calculator, compass, protractor, eraser and ruler) Some colouring pencils (not felt tips) may also be useful Appropriate PE kit Other subjects may also issue specialist equipment lists

Lunch Cards Students must have their lunch card in order to buy from the Restaurant or Coffee Shop. If your child loses their card they can obtain a new one in the Senior School restaurant. If they forget their lunch card, they can collect a lunch voucher from the Senior School reception desk on Level 1, which they can use to purchase their lunch. The restaurant, will deduct the value of this from their lunch card account. Photocopying Your child may need to use the photocopiers in school for their learning. To do this, they should visit the Copy Centre, Floor 2, within the Senior School building, to have their lunch card activated. Uniform The full uniform is listed on our website and can be purchased in the school shop located in the Junior School. Please remember that Wednesday is our school assembly and your child will be expected to wear Best Dressed uniform on those and other assembly days.
