Here 40 youth find a safe place for activities such as gardening, science projects, cooking, dance, sports and homework assistance. The program focuses on character development to support the growth of healthy, caring and responsible community members. Open M Th, 3-6pm and only $10 for the whole school year! Gain job training and real-life work experience with two weeks of volunteer work at one of our summer programs. Participants must be age 13 by 6/11/18 and attend mandatory in-service training the week of June 4. Applications available at Steele Lane Community Center, M-F, 9am-4pm beginning 3/1/18 and are due back by 4/6. See application for eligibility criteria.

Gather up the family and come out to Southwest Community Park at 1698 Hearn Avenue for egg hunts, snacks, games, face painting, crafts and more! Egg hunt for children five years and younger at 11am and kids 6-12 at noon. Thanks to funding provided by the Measure O sales tax and the Change for Kids Program, we are able to offer these programs to underserved youth and families who live in Santa Rosa.

Two age divisions practice on Tu/Th evenings and play games on Sat. mornings and possibly Fri. nights at Comstock and Roseland Accelerated Middle Schools gyms. Spring Cheer Late Feb. to May Grades 3-8 $10, includes t-shirt Gain cheer experience, self-esteem and make new friends with this outstanding program! Practices are Tu/Wed/Th between 6-8:30pm (exact times TBA) at Steele Lane Community Center. Weekly group performances are on Saturdays during the Junior Warriors basketball games at Roseland Accelerated Middle School gym. Register 1/18 from 5-7pm at Finley Community Center.

Futsal Nov. to Feb. Grades 3-4 & 5-6 $10, includes team jersey Participate in this fun co-ed youth program with two age divisions. Tuesday practice/thursday games at Santa Rosa Middle and Comstock Middle Schools gyms. Register on 11/7 from 5-7pm at Finley Community Center. Junior Giants 2018 Season: June to Aug. M-Th Elsie Allen High School & Southwest Community Park Junior Giants is a free, non-competitive baseball program in partnership with the SF Giants that focuses on character development. All participants and their parents must attend a mandatory First Pitch Meeting in late May. Youth ages 5-13 (as of 7/1/18) may register. Middle School Soccer Feb. to April Mon/Wed/Fri Grades 7-8 $10 each Roseland Accelerated, Slater, Cook, Comstock and Santa Rosa Middle School students are invited to play. Players skills will be evaluated (not tryouts) for proper squad placement. A tournament ends the season! More details available in November by calling 707-543-4501. Volunteer as a Junior Giants Coach or Team Parent Volunteer with Junior Giants to positively impact the lives of youth! Baseball knowledge not required, all equipment and training provided. Participants entering grades 7-9 in the 2018-19 school year will partake in drills, scrimmages, tournaments and walking field trips to Ridgway Aquatic Center for swimming.
