This means that you will complete your knowledge and initial skills development through online learning. What is online learning? OpenSpace is Open Colleges online campus. What learning materials are included with this course? Your learning materials are accessed through OpenSpace. What about Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)? We understand that you may already have many skills and areas of expertise that you have obtained in different ways and these are recognised through our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process. Alternatively, you can contact an Enrolment Consultant to discuss your RPL options. What is the duration of the course? The maximum duration for the course is 18 months. To complete the course in this timeframe, we recommend that you study a minimum of 16.5 hours per week. This is a guide only the time taken to complete your course will depend on your level of skill and knowledge. What will I learn? You will learn how to develop your keyboarding speed and accuracy and how to design and produce text documents. Skills in creating electronic presentations and the basics of many popular office programs will also be covered. You will learn skills in processing payroll and how to process accounts payable and receivable. As this course is a comprehensive introduction to business life, you will also gain competencies in writing simple documents, organising schedules and maintaining business reports. When you have finished this course you will be equipped with all the basic office and corporate knowledge you will need to make a real difference in the business sector of many different types of companies.

BSB30415 Certificate III in Business Administration What are the admission requirements for the course? Minimum age requirements You will need to be at least 16 years old. If you are under 18 your enrolment form will need to be signed by a parent or guardian. Education requirements There are no formal education entry requirements stipulated by the Training Package, however given the nature of the course and the delivery model for the course, Open Colleges requires learners to have: - Year 10 and a minimum of one year of vocational experience; OR - A nationally recognised qualification at the Certificate II level or higher; OR - At least two years of relevant vocational experience. English language requirements This course requires you to read comprehensive learner workbooks, undertake a range of written assessments and engage in online discussion forums. Furthermore, the delivery mode relies on the extensive use of written communication. As such, entry to the course requires English proficiency to year 10 level, OR a NRT or Trade qualification at the Certificate II level or higher, OR two years industry experience in a role that requires the use of written documentation and communication (see website for details). Computing requirements You will need access to a computer and the internet and you must have basic computing skills. Minimum specifications for your computer are: > Microsoft Office 2010 or equivalent > Broadband internet connection > 2GB of RAM > CD-ROM or DVD drive > Adobe Reader XI or equivalent > You will also need access to a phone, printer, photocopier and scanner > Adobe Flash Player 10 or higher. Specific requirements for Windows users: > Microsoft Windows XP or higher (Windows 7 or higher is recommended) > 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster processor (2GHz or faster recommended) Specific requirements for Mac OS users: > Mac OS X v 10.5 or higher (Mac OS X v 10.6 or higher is recommended) > 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster Intel processor (2GHz or faster recommended) Audio-visual requirements You will need access to software to view online videos and images. Software such as Adobe Reader, Windows Media Player, Windows Photo Viewer etc. are available as free downloads from the internet. You will also need access to a digital video recording device and/or digital camera and associated software to save and upload video and image files to OpenSpace. Many mobile phones and smartphones include this technology. What support services are available?
