I develop curricula for KCA University - I developed Bachelor of Science in Project Management; and I am currently developing a curriculum for Bachelor of Science in Economics and Statistics and; Master of Science in Health Economics. I guide and supervise graduate students in their research work from development of research proposal to thesis writing. I also teach Research Methods and Microeconomic Theory to PhD students OTHER EXPERIENCES (APART FROM LECTURING) (a). Researcher at the School of Graduate Studies, KCA University, Nairobi, Kenya Led the collaborative research commissioned by CIC Insurance to KCA University on "Youth Perceptions on Co-operative Movements" across the country. I designed the research including: research design, research instruments (Questionnaires and Focus Group Discussion Guide), and data entry worksheet using EXCEL. I recruited and trained data collection supervisors and research assistants. I supervised data collection exercise at Trans Nzioa County. I analyzed data using SPSS and STATA computer software January 2011 March 2011: International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), Kenya Research Manager Designed the research project including the budget and research questionnaires on usage of mobile-phone services and adaption of agricultural insurances in Western Kenya. Recruited the research team through rigorous interviews both with written and verbal assignments. Led and managed the field research team of five in Western Kenya. Trained the team on questionnaire administration, public relations and effective communication in English and Kiswahili. Maintained teamwork for three months solved field problems and communicated to senior researchers effectively. Supervised data entry and delivered questionnaires, data and field report on time. 4

July 2006 August 2008: Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Customs Department; Petroleum Monitoring Unit (PMU), Nairobi, Kenya Revenue Officer I was in-charge of revenue administration at the working station. Continuously learnt and improved skills through attending trainings and use of systems e.g. Customs Oil Stock Information System (COSIS) to facilitate the understanding of the organization s mandate, procedures and priorities. Ensured transit procedures are fully embraced by KRA staff, private sector and other Government of Kenya (GoK) agencies to enhance efficient flow of goods and services in the transit corridors to facilitate trade and regional integration, especially with neighboring Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Sothern Sudan. Communicated and shared the daily revenue reports and statistics with KRA staff and senior revenue officers through emails and breakfast meetings to ensure accountability of revenues collected at the working station. Trained and influenced new KRA staff and tax payers on custom procedures, systems/programs and tax policies through writing and discussions, particularly during the tax payer s week. October 2004 March 2005: Scholar-Match Consultancy Networks, Nairobi, Kenya Assistant Policy Analyst Research and Development I was in-charge of a team which assessed the level of efficiency and effectiveness of bilateral agencies e.g. Department for International Development (DFID) and Canadian International Development Agency and others working through multilateral agencies such as United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Kenya. Recruited the research team, designed the methodology applied and trained the team on how to carry out the assignment. I maintained cordial relationship with development partners, led focus group discussions with development agency officials, captured key issues, led the analysis and 5

summarized the information in suitable formats for presentations to development partners.
