Admission Modalities The admission modalities are with reference to the four year full-time B.Tech. Program offered by the Faculty of Science and Technology, IFHE, Hyderabad. The following branches of engineering are offered: Civil Engineering Computer Science and Engineering Electrical and Electronics Engineering Electronics and Communication Engineering Mechanical Engineering Selection to the B.Tech. Program is competitive. The Admissions Committee evaluates applicants in terms of their potential to be future engineers and to succeed in and profit from the B.Tech. Program. Eligibility for admission into the B.Tech. Program Students securing 70% and above aggregate in Class X, as well as 70% and above aggregate in 10+2 examination or its equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as subjects in English medium of instruction are eligible. Class XII students awaiting examinations results may also apply. The applicant should fulfill the minimum age requirements as prescribed by the respective board through which the applicant has appeared for the qualifying examination. If an applicant is found ineligible for whatever reasons even after admission into the Program, his/her admission will be cancelled. All admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates / documents of the applicants. The decision of the Admissions Committee regarding eligibility of any applicant shall be final. Test Scores Accepted The Test Scores of any of the following Test(s) are accepted by the Admissions Committee for seeking admission into the B.Tech. Program. Program can apply by any one of the following methods. A. Application Form Applicants are required to fill up the Application Form enclosed and send it to the Admissions Officer, IFHE at the address given below. B. Download of Application Form Alternatively, applicants can download the Application Form from www.ifheindia.org/fst, complete it and send it to the Admissions Officer of IFHE (address as indicated below) along with the Demand Draft of ` 700 towards the cost. The DD should be drawn in favour of IUCF A/c IFHE payable at Hyderabad. The Information Brochure and Application Material will be sent to such applicants. The last date for receiving the completed application form at the given address is June 06, 2011. The Application Forms received after June 06, 2011 will not be considered. Documents to be sent along with Application Form All applicants have to submit attested copies of certificates i.e. Class X, XII / equivalent examination marksheets, Proof of Date of Birth and scorecard of the entrance examination along with the Application Form. Choice of Branch of Engineering All applicants seeking admission into the B.Tech. Program have to indicate their preferences for the Branches of Engineering in the Application Form for Admission. The branches will be offered subject to a minimum 25 students opting for it. E-Mail It is mandatory for all the applicants to indicate their e-mail ID, as all important information relating to Admission will be intimated to the applicants by e-mail. Similarly, all applicants are required to send their letters / correspondence, by e-mail only, to btech@ifheindia.org clearly indicating their names and application numbers. Selection Process Faculty of Science and Technology, IFHE will offer admission into the B.Tech. Program based on the marks secured by the applicant in IIT-JEE 2011 / AIEEE 2011/ State Level Engineering Entrance Tests (2011) subject to the applicant satisfying the eligibility criteria of admission. All applicants seeking admission based on Entrance Tests have to submit the attested photocopy of the scorecard. If the applicants do not get the scorecards of their appeared tests at the time of submitting the Application Form for Admission into the B.Tech. Program, please mention the Name of the Test appeared and its Application Number in the Application Form for Admission (given on pages 5-7). However, such applicants are required to submit their scorecards on or before June 06, 2011. Due weightage will be given to the past academic record. Candidates will also be waitlisted based on above criteria. The letters for provisionally selected candidates will be dispatched from June 14, 2011 onwards. Payment of Admission Fee All provisionally selected candidates are required to pay an admission fee of `20,000 on or before July 14, 2011. Allocation of Seats to Waitlisted candidates The waitlisted candidates will be offered admissions from July 15, 2011 onwards. Such candidates are required to pay the admission fee on or before July 25, 2011. For final year (10+2) students: Final-year students of (10+2) who have not received the original certificates from the Board by July 29, 2011 will have to submit the same along with a set of photocopies on or before September 02, 2011. Their admissions will be confirmed only on receipt of the original certificates, and will be subject to their obtaining minimum stipulated percentage for admission into the B.Tech. Program. Commencement of Classes The classes for the first semester of the B.Tech. Program will commence from August 01, 2011. 3
Fee, Scholarships and Bank Loans Payment Schedule Applicants selected for the B.Tech. Program of Faculty of Science and Technology are required to pay the fee as follows. Admission Fee The Admission Fee of `20,000 is payable on or before July 14, 2011. Program Fee The program fee is `80,000 per semester. Students should pay the fee at the beginning of each semester, for all the 8 semesters as per the due dates which will be indicated in the Student Handbook. The first semester fee is to be paid on or before July 29, 2011. Caution Deposit Students are required to pay a caution deposit of `15,000 payable in equal instalments of `7,500 each along with the first semester and the second semester fee. This deposit is towards use of library books, computers, labs and other facilities. The caution deposit will be refunded without interest (and after adjusting for dues, if any) to the students on completion of the program. Hostel and Mess Facilities Since this is a residential program students are required to stay in the hostel. Faculty of Science and Technology provides hostel facilities (twin-sharing rooms) on campus to the students. The hostel fee is `12,000 per semester per student. Mess charges are extra, as per the meal plan and on cost-sharing basis. Students are also required to pay a refundable hostel deposit of `15,000 at the time of registration for the first semester. Alumni Society Membership Fee Students are required to pay an Alumni Society membership fee of `10,000 payable along with the eighth semester fee. Mode of Payment Payments should be made by way of Demand Draft in favor of IUCF A/c IFHE, payable at Hyderabad. Bank Loans Banks provide educational loans to the applicants selected for the B.Tech. Program of IFHE, Deemed University. Applicants are required to approach bank branches in their respective cities/towns for educational loans and IFHE will only facilitate for such bank loans. 4
