The Directive 2005/36 identifies the procedures provided for EU citizens wishing to obtain recognition of their professional qualifications in Italy. The Directive applies to all citizens of the 27 European Union member states (EU), as well as to citizens of Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein, who wish to pursue a regulated profession in a Member State different from that in which they obtained their professional qualifications either as self-employed or as employees. The Directive provides in addition to the "freedom of establishment" the possibility of "freedom to provide services. The second way is based on the equivalence of degree and is valid also for members from outside EU/EEA The second way (COURSE B.2) allow an evaluation of the educational and professional situation of the applicant.
