FARSI I Pre-Course Evaluation: Instructor Directions Ask the students questions orally, directing each question to an individual student. You may use the same question more than once, but try to vary your questions so that students cannot copy each other's responses. Ask each student 2-3 questions, and note the number of correct responses, looking mainly for meaningful replies that make sense. For the written section, prepare the students, and ask how many can write Farsi. If none can write, use this section as a comprehension test, allowing them to write answers in English to the questions they hear. Examples of appropriate questions: What's your name? What's your telephone number? What time is it? How old are you? Do you want to study Farsi? Why do you want to learn Farsi? What is your occupation? Improvise and personalize as needed. 6

FARSI I Pre-Course Evaluation Oral Section Respond verbally to the questions you hear in Farsi. If you understand the question but cannot answer in Farsi, indicate your understanding to the instructor. Written Section Now answer the questions you hear in written Farsi. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 7
