In addition, Portugal has a friendly population, and an outstanding gastronomy. In this beautiful land, you will live a marvelous experience. From the north to the south you can find special places where you will feel at home. Portuguese is the official language, but we are quite open to speak other languages, and communication is not going to be an issue. Portugal is located in Western Europe, and borders with only one country, Spain. However, we have good and fast connections to other European countries, and not only, which is a positive remark, especially if you want to visit other European cities (Paris. Amsterdam, Barcelona or London) during your stay. 5

LISBOA Lisbon is the capital of Portugal, and is situated on the cost side of the country. In this city, you will find a wide range of options in addition to your mobility, namely: sightseeing, cultural activities, beach, parties, shopping, sports, among many others. Live in Lisbon is living in a cosmopolitan city where the old lives in parallel with the new, in a city full of contrasts and with a fabulous light. 6

ISLA CAMPUS LISBOA ISLA Campus Lisboa is located in a former XVIII century palace. The complete renovation of the space has both maintained the charm of the building and gave this space the necessary facilities to ensure a high quality education. Our institution is the third largest and oldest private institution of higher education in Portugal. Founded in 1962 in Lisbon, ISLA Campus Lisboa offers three-year Bologna compliant undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in Marketing, Hospitality, Tourism, Communication, and Business related courses. ELPYOU - STUDENT & ALUMNI VALUE CENTER The ElpYou is a service made up of 3 departments: the International, the Social Responsibility (volunteering and cultural agenda), and the Employability (internships and jobs) offices. The ElpYou International Office is the department in charge of managing the mobility of all students. 7

STUDENTS ASSOCIATION AAISLA Associação Académica do ISLA Campus Lisboa develops many activities for our students, and all the international students are more than welcome to join in. All the activities are posted on AAISLA s website and facebook. Website: www.aaisla.com 10

COURSES ISLA Campus Lisboa is teaching courses in different fields, as you can see on the list below. International students are able to choose subjects up to a maximum of 30 credits (6/7 subjects). However, ISLA Campus Lisboa is only in charge of creating your timetable, seeing that this subjects are sent by the home institution. LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION ISLA Campus Lisboa is now working to teach classes not only in Portuguese but also in English. We want to give to national and international students the possibility to develop their language skills. Students will be informed as soon as they choose their courses which level they must have to attend classes taught in English. However, we are also teaching English, French, German, and Spanish courses applied to Business, Hospitality and Tourism. 15

COST OF LIVING We estimate that the cost of living in Lisbon will be around 600 /month, including housing, food and transportation. However, this amount will vary according to the students life style. ISLA Campus Lisboa has also a wide list of apartments located in Lisbon where students may find more options. 16

MOBILITY IN LISBON The easiest way of moving across Lisbon is using our metro network. International students have to take care of the process to obtain this card, in Portuguese passe, which can be obtained at the following metro stations: Marques de Pombal or Campo Grande. 17

INTERNSHIPS & JOBS If you are a European citizen, you are able to work or to make an internship in Portugal. However, if you are not we have to check if the agreement established between our countries allows you to do it. ISLA Campus Lisboa will assist you on this matter, if necessary. VISA Non-European students must have a visa in order to study in Portugal. In order to get this visa ElpYou International Office will send to your home university an acceptance letter after receiving and checking all the documents, namely our registration form. VISA EXTENSION If your visa does not cover all the mobility period, you can request to ElpYou International Office a letter to extend it. This letter has to be requested 1 (one) month before the expiring date of your visa by email. In order to extend your visa, you will need the following documents: 2 photos (ID style); Passport; Proof of address in Lisbon Proof Livelihoods. After collecting all the documents, you have to set a meeting with our Immigration Service (SEF) calling to the following number: (+351) 808 202 653. HEALTH INSURANCE All international students must have a health insurance. In order to get further details on this matter, you may contact your International Office for advice and guidance. If you are a European citizen, you just need to have the European Health Card. 18
