If yu are a new student and lgging in fr the first time with yur CWID and PIN, yu may be prmpted t change yur PIN fr security reasns. A. Students are encuraged t see their Advisr prir t registratin t g ver their future schedule and analyze their gals. First-time Freshmen, students wh haven t declared a majr, n academic actin (prbatin, readmitted frm suspensin r dismissal) and students in EOF must see their Advisr prir t registering. Students majring in Anthrplgy r Earth and Envirnmental Sciences are als required t have an Advising appintment befre registering. If Advising is mandatry fr yu, yur Advisr will prvide yu with yur wn unique registratin PIN that will enable yu t register fr curses in Banner, via NEST. This registratin PIN is needed t unlck the system t yu, and nly yu, t sign up fr yur classes. Q. Where d I find my Analysis f Academic Prgress r Audit infrmatin? Students can view their Degree Audit thrugh NEST by accessing Degree Wrks. If a student is having truble finding r accessing their Degree Audit they can cntact the Office f the Registrar at registrar@mail.mntclair.edu r 973-655-4376. Hlds Q. Where d I see my hlds? A. Befre they are able t register fr classes, students must make sure that there are n hlds n their accunt. Students can view their hlds by lgging int NEST and navigating t Register fr Classes

Under the Registratin Tls prtlet, select View Yur Hlds This page will view any hlds the student may have n their accunt and the prper ffice they shuld cntact t reslve the hld If the student is having truble viewing their accunt hlds, they can cntact nest@mail.mntclair.edu. Q. Why am I seeing a hld I knw I cleared? A. If yu have a hld that is appearing in NEST that yu have abslutely cleared, cntact the Student Accunts Office at (973)-655-4105. Curse Schedule: Q. Where d I find the Curse Schedule? A. Students can view the curse schedule by lgging int NEST and navigating t Register fr Classes Navigate t Registratin Tls and select the University Curse Schedule.

Select a Term. Students can then chse t search by Subject r use the Advanced Search If the student wishes t narrw their search, they can chse Advanced Search Here, they can search all curses being ffered that semester with the Curse Recrd Numbers (CRNs), day and time f the class, instructr, lcatin, date range, credits, hw many seats are in the class, hw many seats are left pen and full Curse Catalg entry.

Brwse the varius curses that are listed based n yur search criteria. Once yu find a curse that yu are interested in, cpy dwn the Curse Registratin Number (CRN) lcated next t the class name Registering Q. Where d I register? A. Once yu have classes selected, have n registratin hlds and yur registratin time has arrived, navigate back t NEST and select the "Register fr classes/add r drp" link.

Enter yur pre-selected Curse Recrd Numbers (CRNs) int each line and select the Submit Changes buttn. Q. I dn t see a curse I need t register fr, wh d I cntact? A. Cntact the Office f the Registrar at registrar@mail.mntclair.edu r 973-655-4376. Q. I can t register fr classes, why nt? A. Registratin may nt be active. Each class year has a specific time in which they can register. Please check the Registrar s Website r yur email fr yur Registratin Time. Yu can als find this infrmatin n NEST under Registratin Tls. If the student s registratin time has cme and they still cannt register, there may be a few reasns: The student has unpaid dues. The student can find these Hlds in NEST under Registratin Tls If the student has a Hld, they need t cntact the ffice in which the Hld is under. The student needs a registratin PIN Other If the student requires mandatry advising, they must see their advisr t acquire their registratin PIN necessary fr registering. If the student has n hlds, des nt require a Registratin PIN and still cannt register, they shuld cntact the Office f the Registrar at registrar@mail.mntclair.edu r 973-655-4376. Q. I can t register fr a class because f a prerequisite I have already cmpleted. A. If yu have cmpleted a prerequisite curse and cannt register fr a curse, cntact the Office f the Registrar at 973-655-4376.

Q. What if yu are blcked frm repeating a curse that yu have taken ne r mre time in prir terms? A. Per University Academic Plicy, undergraduate students are permitted t repeat a curse nly in which they have received a final grade f D+, D, D- r F. They are nt permitted t repeat a curse in which they received a C- r higher withut special permissin. Graduate students are nt permitted t repeat curses withut special permissin. (Certain repeatable curses, like a music lessns, independent studies, cps, special tpics curses are exceptins) Fr permissin t repeat a curse fr which yu have earned a C- r higher, see either the Dean s Office f the Cllege/Schl f yur majr r the Dean s Office f the Cllege/Schl in which the curse is ffered. Graduate students must see the Dean s Office f the Graduate Schl. Please fill ut the Request t Repeat an Undergraduate Curse Permissin Frm. Q. Hw are Permits handled? A. Permits may be issued by Department Chairpersns. Students wh wish t btain a permit t enter a clsed curse, r a curse in which they have nt met the pre-req, c-req r ther requirements, may visit the apprpriate academic department fr assistance. Permits may be issued t students using Banner INB. Training is required. (Registratin int classes is handled thrugh the TTI website.) Permits may be issued t verride department, majr, cllege, pre- and c requisites etc thrugh use f the AUTHORIZE Cde. Permits may be issued t verride class capacity thrugh use f the CAPACITY Cde. When verriding capacity, please verify that there will be enugh seats in the class. If yu have questins please cntact Jennifer Spiegel in the Registrar s ffice. Q. Hw d I find the PINS? (Students with Mandatry advising ONLY) A. Students wh are required t have mandatry advising will need a Registratin PIN t register. While yu are meeting with yur advisr, yu will receive this PIN. Students will be asked t hld n t this PIN, as they will need it fr any future drp/adds r withdrawals frm classes. Each semester, a new PIN will be issued and needed fr registratin. Remember that yur Spring 2017 PIN will be a different pin than that yu used fr Fall 2016. Q. Hw are applicatins fr graduatin being handled? A. Students wh are required t have mandatry advising will need a Registratin PIN t register. While yu are meeting with yur advisr, yu will receive this PIN. Q. Hw is grading handled right nw and thrugh this year? A. Grades will be in NEST.
