CALL FOR PARTICIPATION IN INTERNATIONAL MOBILITY PROGRAMMES ACADEMIC YEAR 2018/2019 DOUBLE DEGREE 1. The University of Trento indicts for the academic year 2018/2019 a selection based on qualifications and interview in order to assign 73 positions, all covered by study grants, for a study period abroad at one of the following Universities: Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen (Germany); Ecoles Centrales Lille/Lyon/Nantes/Marseille/CentraleSupélec (France); Ecole des Ponts Paris Tech (France); Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena (Germany); Hochschule Geisenheim University(Germany) ; Instituto Superior Técnico de Lisboa (Portugal); Katholische Universität Eichstätt-Ingolstadt (Germany); Prague Metropolitan University (Czech Republic); Technische Universität Dresden (Germany); Technische Universität München (Germany); Tongji University Shanghai (China); Universität Bamberg (Germany); Universität Bremen (Germany); Université de Nantes (France); Universität Osnabrück (Germany); Université Paris XIII (France); Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Spain) Université de Strasbourg (France); University of Tilburg (Netherlands); Vytautas Magnus University, Kaunas (Lithuania); 2. Attachment 1to the present call, divided by scientific/disciplinary areas, includes an information sheet for each partner University, in which are indicated: a. number of proclaimed study grants and their relative amount; b. concerned academic bodies and study courses; c. destination requisites for students at the moment of application and, if selected, at the moment of leaving for the destination; d. duration of stay at the partner University and mobility period; e. general information regarding the partner University and further requisites requested by the partner University itself. 3. Candidates are requested to choose their destination, and are allowed to select a maximum of two destinations. The order of preference is nonbinding in regards to the assignation of the destination by the Commission.

Art. 2 - Selection admission requirements 1. University of Trento students may participate in the selection if they possess all requisites indicated in Attachment 1 and are in one of the following conditions: a. they are enrolled in at least the second year of a bachelor or five-year degree course, or in a master s degree course, included inter-university courses, on condition that the student career is managed by the University of Trento (that is, the student has started its university career at the University of Trento). On the ending date of this call, candidates will have to be enrolled in their study course for a maximum of its normal duration plus 2 years; b. they are enrolled in single courses useful towards the enrolment into a master s degree course, in which they will anyway have to be enrolled by the time of departure. 2. In order to be admitted to the selection, candidates have to prove their knowledge of the destination s required language at least at the level indicated in Attachment 1, Linguistic requisites at the moment of application entry, following one of the procedures indicated here below: a. Hold an internationally-recognized language certificate attesting their knowledge of the language at the requested level; internationally-recognized language certificates and their validity period are those listed at the following link: http://www.cla.unitn.it/en/780/certificates-do-you-have-a-certificate (the certificate has to be uploaded in the Esse3 online application); OR b. Be a native speaker in the required language (this requisite has to be declared in the Esse3 online application); OR c. Have passed the language exam within the UniTrento career (or in another University provided all four abilities were tested), if the language is the same as the one required by the partner University and the level is at least the same as the one required; (this requisite has to be declared in the Esse3 online application); OR d. Only for students of the Department of Economics and Management: have passed both written and oral tests to be taken at the end of the extracurricular English, German and Spanish language courses, whose level was at least the same as the one of Attachment 1 to the present call (the certificate has to be uploaded in the Esse3 online application); OR e. Hold a high school, Bachelor or Master s Degree either achieved in a country where the official language is the same as the required one or taught

in the required language (the certificate has to be uploaded in the Esse3 online application); OR f. Have passed a language written and oral test for a previous call by the University of Trento (this requisite has to be declared in the questionnaire in the Esse3 online application); OR g. Be enrolled in an English-taught Master s Degree, whose language admission requirements were at least of the same level as the one of Attachment 1 to the present call (this requisite has to be declared in the online application); OR 3. The language requirement is an essential requisite for admission to the selection. In case the candidate does not hold any of the abovementioned requirements, he/she will be allowed to take a written and oral language exam at the Language Centre (CLA) before the end of this call, in order to fulfill said requirement. 4. Candidates falling in the category expressed at the comma above will have to enroll no later than 24.10.2017 at noon to the language test through the relative application viewable at page http://international.unitn.it/outgoing/open-selection-calls. Candidates will be allowed to take maximum two language tests either for two different levels of the same language or for two different languages regardless of the programme they are applying to (Double Degree, Erasmus+ Study Europe, Bilateral Agreements) 5. Language examinations calendar and possible variations will be published on the University s webpage http://international.unitn.it/outgoing/openselection-calls. For all languages the written exam (hearing comprehension, reading comprehension and writing) will be taking place between 6 and 10 November, while the oral test will be taking place between 4 and 7 December. The publication of the examinations calendar values as notice. No further indication will be given via e-mail to candidates. The candidate s absence will be considered as a renounce to the selection, irrespective of its cause. The students who pass the language test will have to self-declare it at the moment of the application. Art. 3 Application procedure 1. Applications are to be made through the Esse3 system (logging in by inserting personal user name and password). The application can be filled out and saved multiple times until the moment the candidate considers it complete, renders it definite and closes it: the closure happens after printing the receipt, which the student can keep without sending. The

application must be saved and closed no later than 15 December, at noon. 2. All candidates have to attach the following documents to the application: a. a motivational letter in Italian explaining the reasons for their choice ofincluding a study period abroad in their curriculum. The same motivational letter can be written in English and must be also be written in the foreign language requested by the partner university in order to be accepted by said partner university; b. a curriculum vitae in Europass format, written in Italian or English and in the foreign language requested by the partner university (for the Europass format, please view http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/documents/curriculum-vitae); c. where applicable, a certificate proving the knowledge of the required language; d. any other documents considered as relevant for the purposes of the selection. 3. Candidates with disabilities are invited to contact the offices listed in Attachment 2 in order to identify integrative documentation concerning their university career, which will have to be uploaded in the application. Art. 4 Selection 1. Admission to the selection based on qualifications and interview will happen following the checking of regularly-closed online applications and the relative attached documentation, as seen in art. 3. 2. The list of candidates admitted to the selection interview in front of the Commission will be published on the University s website at the following link http://international.unitn.it/outgoing/open-selection-calls at least three days before the actual interview day. NB: candidates will not be notified by email. The candidate s absence will be considered as a renounce to the selection, irrespective of its cause. 3. The Commission is allowed to request the candidate to use the foreign language required by the destination during the interview. Art. 3 Evaluation criteria 1. The Commission s evaluation criteria are determined as follows:

a. Motivational letter (maximum 35 points) b. Interview and curriculum (maximum 35 points) c. UniTrento GPA or the grade of the latest degree achieved (maximum 30 points) 2. The GPA (criterion c) will be taken into consideration only in case : at least 20 CFU referred to graded exams are already registered in the student s career by 31/10/2017. If this is not the case, the grade of the latest degree achieved will be taken into consideration. When it comes to foreign degrees, in case the grade is not available, the GPA will be taken into consideration. 3. The Commission formulates a ranking list for each destination on the basis of the points scored by each candidate in each of the above-mentioned fields. The minimum score required is 70 points. 4. In case study grants for one or more destinations are not assigned, said study grants can be re-assigned to another destination by the Commission, after having verified the partner s willingness to host a higher number of students. Art. 6 Ranking list 1. The final ranking lists, divided by destination, will be published on the University s website at the following page http://international.unitn.it/outgoing/open-selection-calls no later than 5 working days from the date of the interview. Each destination s positions are awarded following the ranking list order. 2. Winner candidates will be contacted via email at their official UniTrento email address. Each candidate will have to present, no later than 5 working days after the email has been sent, a declaration of acceptance, using the form which will be attached in said email. 3. In case the winning candidate renounces, the next eligible candidate in the ranking list, who will be contacted within the time limits placed by the registration deadlines dictated by the selected partner University, will succeed him/her. 4. The assignation of a mobility period study grant becomes definitive only after the candidate has been accepted by the destination university, as some universities may reserve a right to conduct additional language examinations or candidature evaluations and/or request further documentation and potentially not accept the proposed candidate. Candidates are therefore requested to view the partner university s website, as indicated in Attachment 1.

5. Study grant winners who are recipients of other mobility programmes in the framework of another international programme for the same time period have to submit the formal renouncement to the previously accepted mobility before submitting the Double Degree declaration of acceptance. 6. Foreign citizens have to autonomously inquire as to the requirements requested for the release of a visa for the country of destination. 7. Candidates who are study grant recipients have to be regularly enrolled in the University of Trento for the duration of the whole mobility period. Art. 7 Study Grant 1. The study grant is linked to the effective participation in the mobility programme. The study grant amount, indicated in the destination sheet, is dispensed in two payments according in the following ways: For the first two semesters of mobility: a. The first half of the yearly amount within two months after the beginning of the mobility period; b. The second half of the yearly amount within two months after the beginning of the second semester; In case the student does not manage to achieve at least half of the yearly credits required by the programme, the exclusion from the Double Degree programme will be taken into consideration, as well as the giving back of the received study grant. For the following semesters abroad, where foreseen: a. The first half of the yearly amount within two months after the beginning of the third semester of mobility; b. The second half of the yearly amount within than two months after the beginning of the last semester of mobility; 2. In case of renunciation or interruption of the stay without rightful motivation, the student is requested to give back the study grant received; said restitution is a necessary condition for the admission to the final exam. 3. The study grant is to be considered as a contribution to the mobility period, does not give way to social security treatments nor evaluation towards juridical and economic careers, nor automatic recognition for social security objectives and is not subjected to the deductions foreseen by the law. Candidates are recommended to preventively inform themselves on the cost of living in the destination country and, also with reference to the issuance of the visa as well, the economic guarantees requested for the whole mobility period.

4. Students who do not graduate in the next 12 months following the validation of all planned exams will be excluded from the Double Degree programme and will therefore only be able to obtain a UniTrento degree. Exceptions will be made only for documented special cases, which will be evaluated singularly. Art. 8 Information and contacts 1.
