ENG225: 20 TH CENTURY AMERICAN AUTHORS SYLLABUS LECTURE HOURS/CREDITS: 3/3 CATALOG DESCRIPTION Prerequisite: ENG101 English Composition I Literary works related to basic problems of the twentieth century (political, social, religious, philosophical, or personal) are studied. TEXTBOOK AND COURSE MATERIALS It is the responsibility of the student to confirm with the bookstore and/or their instructor the textbook, handbook and other materials required for their specific course and section. Recognize and apply the principles of effective communication when writing: a. Develop and organize around one central idea b. Support central idea and related ideas with detail and evidence c. Create an easy to follow organization d. Use precise word choice and correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling 2. Identify and use literary terms: a.
