SEMESTRAL PROGRAM High Performance Tennis + School 2017-2018 1. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The Sánchez-Casal Academy is a high performance training facility that combines tennis and education for students, with the objective of shaping successful young people in diverse aspects of their lives. The Academy has a unique training system established by coaches with a worldwide reputation. Sánchez-Casal has developed elite players such as Svetlana Kuznetsova, Andy Murray, Grigor Dimitrov, Daniela Hantuchova, Ana Ivanovic, Juan Mónaco, Elena Bovina, Nuria Llagostera, Johanna Konta, Gilles Muller, Teymuraz Gabashvili, Óscar Hernández among others. The semestral program Tennis + School offers a complete educational journey for the students who want to combine intensive tennis training with academic studies. This program includes a daily high performance tennis training based on the Sánchez- Casal system, which includes technical exercises, court mobility, tactical strategy and competition, a specific physical training program and studies at the ES International School which is situated inside the Sánchez-Casal facilities. In addition, this program also includes mental training, video analysis, and a personalized competition calendar. The semestral program is available the entire academic year. It is divided into two terms, the fall term runs from September to December and the spring term from January to June. It includes 15 hours of tennis and 5 hours of physical training per week, 1.5 hours of mental training per month and 1 video analysis per school term. The areas of the program are designed and coordinated so that students can benefit the most from all of them. This means that tennis, physical training, mental training and the school work together in order to obtain the maximum benefit for the student, so that he/she can succeed in both academic studies and tennis, avoiding injuries and overtraining, thus ensuring the best performance possible. It is an integrated training that is based on four fundamental pillars: technical, tactical, physical and mental. Our daily work at the Sánchez-Casal Academy is guided by our philosophy of creating opportunities for young people so they can be successful in all aspects of life, using tennis and education as the vehicle for personal development. All student athletes receive the necessary support systems to help them fulfil this goal. www.sanchez-casal.com info@sanchez-casal.com 1/6

6. PROGRAM CONTENT BY AREAS The content of the semestral program is divided into the following areas: TENNIS TRAINING The tennis training includes 3 hours every day from Monday to Friday, in which the students work on the technical and tactical aspects of the game as well as court mobility and positioning based on the Sánchez-Casal training system, in order to enhance their tennis and develop a better game from all areas of the court. Each student is assigned to a coach who is responsible for monitoring the development of the student. He has regular meetings with the academic tutor and the physical trainer. All the coaches from our technical team have the RPT and USPTA certification. The season is subject to a competition plan that determines the periods of preparation, pre-seasons and competition. Both, the physical and the mental level are integrated into the training sessions that ensure a perfect balance between training and competition for the students according to their age and level. PHYSICAL TRAINING The physical training includes 1 hour of physical training every day from Monday to Friday (during the academic year) with proper planning for every student, in which all the physical aspects according to their condition and age are worked on. The exercises are based on the Sánchez-Casal training system which emphasizes movement (footwork) and court positioning. All students will have a physical trainer who is responsible for monitoring the proper development of the students in their physical aspect. The physical training at Sánchez-Casal has a special emphasis on preventing injuries, compensation and recuperation. The physical trainers are in charge of the Energy Point where from Monday to Friday the students receive a bottle of water and a snack (energy bar, shake, sandwich, fruits, etc.). MENTAL TRAINING Our team of sport psychologists (sportive and clinic) offers a proper mental training in order to develop the mental skills of the students by performing sessions in class and on court, as well as providing support for the students to be able to use tools that will not only help them in tennis but also in their everyday life. The mental training is integrated into the Sánchez-Casal training system and represents one of its four pillars. COMPETITION CALENDAR The student will have a personalized competition calendar appropriate to his/her age and level. This calendar will be planned by the tennis coach of the student as well as the Tournament Coordinator, and will include both national and international tournaments, according to the individual needs of the student. The tournament registration fees are not included in the price of the program. When a tournament requires logistics, the coach prepares a budget and presents it to the parents. The transportation department is in charge of taking and picking up the students when the tournaments take place close to the Academy. During the academic year the sporting calendar is coordinated with ES International School, which adapts the school curriculum to the planned tournaments. VIDEO ANALYSIS The coach will conduct a complete video analysis with the student every school term. The student will be recorded while performing exercises on court as well as in match situations. The coach will analyze the video together with his superior before analyzing it with the student. Other video analysis sessions may be performed in order to help the student in a particular aspect of the game. 7. MEDICAL INSURANCE AND ADDITIONAL SERVICES The registration to any tennis program of the Sánchez-Casal Academy includes Comprehensive Medical Care underwritten by Seguro Premium Mapfre, a leading insurance company in Spain. This policy covers the student against illnesses or injuries and collaborates with the best specialists in the world. The specific coverage information is described in the contract signed with the insurer. The Academy has a physiotherapy area on site, with experienced staff in treating sports injuries, and works with the latest technology available in that area. Our physiotherapy team offers some additional services that are not covered by the medical insurance, like appointments with an osteopath, nutritionist, dentist or orthodontist, as well as massages. All these services can be contracted additionally according to the necessity of each student. The Sánchez-Casal Academy, through the Medical Insurance Policy taken out by the student, will treat students injuries through a personalized, comprehensive rehabilitation program by the in-house physiotherapy and Medical Care team. The rehabilitation process conducted by the physiotherapy team can substitute the training partly or completely for the injury period. If the student wishes to take a temporary leave of the Academy due to an injury, no refund will be provided for the time of absence. 8. GENERAL STANDARDS TO BE FOLLOWED BY ALL STUDENTS During their stay at the Academy, the students are expected to treat all persons with respect. The Academy makes available its material and personnel resources to all students, so they can progress successfully. Each student is expected to display honesty and hard work in every aspect according to the sportive virtues and values of cohabitation. We expect from our students that they comply with the rules and regulations of the Sánchez-Casal Academy following the guidelines of the Handbook 2017-2018 that is handed over on the first day of the program. In case of non-compliance of one of the established rules the Sánchez-Casal Academy and the ES International School can request a convocation of a Disciplinary Committee to decide on the course of action to take. www.sanchez-casal.com info@sanchez-casal.com 3/6
