Course brochure of M.Sc. in Rehabilitation Science M.Sc. in Rehabilitation Science program at Bangladesh Health Professions Institute (BHPI), CRP under the project of Regional Inter-professional Master s program in Rehabilitation Science funded by SAARC Development Fund (SDF). BHPI is the academic institute of CRP committed to produce highly skill health professionals. The institute is located within the main campus of CRP and is 20 kilometres distance from Dhaka which is the capital city of Bangladesh. CRP is the 100-bed only spinal injury rehabilitation facility in the country. Objectives of M.Sc. in Rehabilitation Science program: 1. To build the health and rehabilitation human resources for services, education, policy and research through development of capacity. 2. To create a cadre of leaders capable of advancing education, research and practice in the field of disability and rehabilitation science in Bangladesh and participating countries. Affiliated body: The degree is given by the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Faculty member: The program will be supported by the International faculty members including York St John University (UK), Duke University (USA) and highly qualified local faculty. Course brochure of M.Sc. in Rehabilitation Science Admission and Scholarships: 30 seats are available for admission and scholarships during July, 2017 intake. At least 18 (60%) of the seats will be reserved for the students from other SAARC countries. Therefore, 12 Bangladeshi students along with 18 students from other SAARC countries will be eligible for scholarships. Distribution of scholarship among SAARC countries in case of lack of interested applicants: Country representation from all SAARC member countries will be considered while selecting the students. Students from countries with less or no previous enrolments will be prioritized for selection to ensure each country representation. Students from countries with more applications will be selected for enrolment if the seats are available and not filled by other countries. Scholarship benefits and period: The scholarship covers both tuition fees (paid directly to the institute) and living expenses for 2 years (the whole duration of the master s program). The scholarship period cannot be altered or extended beyond the study program period. There are no additional grants for family members. The current amount of scholarship for each Bangladeshi student: USD1884 and each SAARC student: USD 5760 for 2 years (the whole duration of the master s program). However, total scholarship money may be increased, effective from this year intake (July, 2017), subject to approval from SAARC Development Fund (SDF). Selection of candidates from SAARC countries for Scholarships: Candidates will be nominated for scholarship based on several selection points including Academic performance, English proficiency, relevant experience, number of publications and writing a motivation letter.
