UNIQUE EUROPEAN MASTER S PROGRAMME

WHAT IS EU-HEM? WHY CHOOSE THIS PROGRAMME? The European Master in Health Economics and Health Management (EU-HEM) offers a unique opportunity for interdisciplinary studies of methods and health economics, management, leadership, health policy, governance and law at four leading European universities. Private and public healthcare organizations need to adapt to the continuous changes in health care driven by technological innovations, demographic transitions and legal evolution. A key to a career in this sector is awareness of the societal relevance of healthcare and the implied constraints imposed by regulations and the law. The complex tasks and mission of healthcare organizations call for professionals who are able to combine a multidisciplinary perspective on decision-making with specialized skills. EU-HEM prepares you to be employed in staff and executive positions in organisations and institutions involved in healthcare provision. PROGRAMME OVERVIEW The European Master in Health Economics and Management is a full time programme over two years, earning students a total of 120 credits. The programme offers a multidisciplinary approach and the opportunity to specialise within your field of interest. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES CAREER PROSPECTS The European Master s Degree in Health Economics and Management is attractive among future employers in international organisations, hospitals and care organisations, governmental agencies, and research institutions. INTERNATIONAL EMPLOYERS EU-HEM is an international master s programme, and future employers may include organisations like international pharmaceutical companies, aid organisations, health insurers, regulatory agencies and UN organisations. Employers that are seeking internationally trained staff in the fields of health economics, policy analyses and health management. NATIONAL EMPLOYERS Large hospitals and integrated care organisations experience a growing demand for employees who are explicitly trained in EU policy and law. eu-hem.eu The European Degree in Health Economics and Management is developed thanks to the LLP project JoinHEM. JoinHEM is a higher education project for developing a joint degree in health economics and management. The aim is to combine the opportunities offered by the innovative learning programme with the impact obtained through the cooperation with enterprises in order to train far-sighted and socially responsible healthcare management professionals working either in private or in public environments.
