Information on the Study Program Part-time MBA General Management The MBA General Management (MBA GM) is designed to give you an excellent knowledge base in General Management. In addition, you choose two of four elective courses to further deepen your business proficiency. It enhances your individual competencies to be an emphatic and highly performing leader, and provides you with deep insights into international markets and cultures. The 24-month part-time MBA GM equips you with the right tools to excel further in your career: rigorous analysis, conceptual thinking, and creative execution. You learn, discuss, and apply general management knowledge and leadership topics in a truly international setting. As with all study programs at (MBS), small and highly diverse workgroups as well as an intimate study and discussion atmosphere create the optimal learning environment. This allows MBS students to interact closely and collaborate productively with their class mates and lecturers. Current business and management topics in a well-rounded curriculum full of real-life applications are taught by a dedicated faculty using modern teaching methods and an interdisciplinary approach. 4 Reasons for the MBA GM 1. Reputable Degree The MBA GM at MBS represents a widely respected and internationally accredited academic degree which can open doors into and within the inter national business world. 2. international Experience International faculty, international case studies, international student teams, international weeks the MBA GM is a truly international experience. 3. Dedicated Faculty Providing cutting-edge academic concepts as well as extensive industry insights, the team of MBA GM lecturers empowers you to look at business challenges from a new angle. 4. Valuable Network By completing the MBA GM program, you become part of a network of highly competent and interesting management personalities from a variety of industries and countries. I have chosen to help me get prepared for the next quantum leap in my professional development. After completing this MBA, I am sure I will have the right tools to move forward and take on new challenges. Carlos Rafael Anriquez (Argentina), MBA General Management

Program Structure & Study Contents The MBA General Management is divided into three terms and time for the Master Thesis over a period of 24 months. The program covers topics from three major General Management modules: Business & Management Knowledge, Executive & Leadership Skills, and International Business Environment. In addition, you select two out of four elective courses, one in Flex- Term 2 and one in Flex-Term 3. This effective modular structure is the basis for a challenging yet flexible two-year program allowing for the completion of the MBA degree without having to put professional careers on hold. Two International Weeks at the end of Flex-Terms 2 and 3 offer further insights into European and Asian business environments and help enhance your international network. With their Master Thesis, MBA GM students demonstrate a profound understanding of current business topics and the ability to apply specific scientific methods to a real-world business situation. Term 1 Flex-Term 2 Flex-Term 3 Term 4 (+ 5 if needed) Global Strategy, Entrepreneurship & Innovation Modern Leadership & Corporate Development Knowledge, Alliances & Learning Organizations Managerial Economics Financial & Managerial Accounting Financial Management Strategic Marketing Master Thesis Self Management & Personal Strategy Creativity & Presentation Skills Negotiation Skills & Conflict Management Intercultural Communication INTER- NATIONAL WEEK 2 Business & Society Business INTER- Law Internationalizing European NATIONAL Companies Global Dynamics & WEEK 1 New Growth Paradigms ELECTIVE COURSES Global Supply Chain Mgmt. OR Social Entrepreneurship Digital Business Transformation OR Mgmt. of Emerging Markets Order in which the (Flex-)Terms are completed Program Start September: Term 1 Flex-Term 2 Flex-Term 3 Term 4 Program Start March: Term 1 Flex-Term 3 Flex-Term ft2 2 Term 4 Work Hard, Study Hard MBS offers two flexible MBA program starts (September and March). The order in which the first three terms are completed depends on the selected intake. While students form a core group in their first term, they will have combined classes with other MBA groups during Flex-Term 2 and Flex-Term 3. This format allows them to increase their network and exposes them to even more diverse learning opportunities. Each of the three first terms begins with a so-called Intensive Week (Monday-Saturday), kick-starting the MBA General Management program with a whole week of seminars, trainings as well as teambuilding and networking events. All further courses are held bi-weekly on Friday afternoons (4pm-8pm) and Saturdays (9am-6pm), thus ensuring that your career actually benefits from your choice to study not suffer from it.

Right Toolbox for Modern Leaders Global Strategy, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Strategic Marketing or Financial & Managerial Accounting are just some of the many topics covered in the Business & Management Knowledge section. At the core of the education concept at MBS lies the imparting of knowledge on current business theory and practice by the use of modern teaching methods as well as the continuous transfer to real-world applications. Besides business knowledge, the section of Executive & Leadership Skills is the second pillar of the MBA GM program covering areas such as Social Competence and Self Competence. Only by including both hard knowledge and soft skills into its curriculum, the MBA GM provides you with a comprehensive toolbox that every modern leader should possess. International & Practical Munich, Milan, Singapore The International Business Environment section focuses on exploring international markets and their unique traits and trends as well as specific economies that are currently impacting global business. To top off the truly international MBS experience, the MBA GM is taught in English by a mix of international and German faculty, the student body of the program consists of approx. 50% non-german students and two International Weeks are fully integrated into the curriculum. The continuous practical application of knowledge and theories is the very essence of how education is approached at MBS. Therefore, case studies, business projects and real-world applications take up a big part of the MBA GM curriculum. The program is taught by highly-qualified lecturers with years of professional work experience and presented by guest speakers from high-impact organizations and industries. Become a Generalist with an Edge As one of Europe s most international cities, Munich is a study location combining global business hustle with a truly intercultural atmosphere. In addition to spending every second weekend in Bavaria s (and Germany s secret) capital, two global hotspots are visited during the International Weeks. Themed Internationalizing European Companies, the study visit at prestigious SDA Bocconi in Milan, Italy, focuses on topics such as global strategies and international competitiveness of European companies as well as Italy s role in the European Community. All SDA Bocconi lectures are supplemented with case studies and company visits to the likes of Inter Milan or Lamborghini. All seminars, workshops and company visits during the stay at Singapore Management University follow the main topic of Global Dynamics and New Growth Paradigms. An overview of Asian Pacific economics or a module on identifying business opportunities and spotting the effects of new technologies on businesses are only some of the topics covered during this International Week. The idea behind the part-time MBA is to offer a program that provides you with an excellent foundation of General Management knowledge and skills while at the same time giving you the opportunity to get deeper insights into two additional subjects. This combination of mandatory and elective courses produces management generalists with a deeper understanding of a particular field, and thus a clear professional advantage. You may choose a total of two electives, one in Flex-Term 2 and one in Flex-Term 3. Choices are: Flex-Term 2: Felx-Term 3: Global Supply Chain Management or Social Entrepreneurship Digital Business Management or Management in Emerging Markets

Create a Network, Boost your Career The network of classmates and industry contacts established during the MBA program are important assets for MBS graduates. Therefore, a variety of MBA Networking Events has been created to provide you with the opportunity to exchange ideas and network with your classmates, other MBS students, alumni, lecturers and leading company representatives from different industries. For example, Dine & Discuss is a great event series where experts present their views on future industry trends in a personal setting to facilitate interaction and the establishment of new contacts. The MBS Career Center advises and actively supports you in all questions concerning the development and advancement of your professional career. At the same time, it sees itself as a mediator between MBS students and the university s strong corporate network offering an online job platform and hosting a variety of career events.
