WHY CHOOSE A PATHWAY TO MONASH? GREATER CHOICE We offer one of the widest ranges of degrees in Australia. You can choose from two types of degree courses comprehensive or specialist or even study two courses at the same time. COMPREHENSIVE COURSES Comprehensive courses are all about developing expertise, and offer maximum flexibility and choice. You can choose comprehensive courses already knowing what your major area of study will be, or try a range of subjects in your first year before settling on your major. SPECIALIST COURSES Specialist courses allow you to concentrate on a particular area of study from day one, giving you the focus and depth required for entry into many careers. Our flexibility allows you to better match your studies to your interests, or get a broader education that will set you ahead. MORE OPPORTUNITIES Monash is the largest university in Australia and among the most highly regarded in the world. Our scale means you ll have access to a wider variety of opportunities more research projects, more talented peers to collaborate with and more campuses to choose from. A POSITIVE STUDENT EXPERIENCE At Monash you re at the centre of everything we do. New ways of teaching and learning are constantly developed, tested and integrated into your course to ensure you get the best university experience. And with small class sizes and helpful tutors you ll be supported along the way. PRACTICAL OUTCOMES Monash students leave with a greater sense of purpose, a global outlook, and the skills and confidence to make positive change to their own lives, and to the lives of those around them. Leaders from the world s most successful companies consistently rate Monash as a preferred university from which to hire graduates.* STUDY SKILLS AND SUPPORT SERVICES The decision to study at university is exciting, but it s also a big adjustment. We care about your wellbeing and offer transition programs, peer networking, mentoring and study skills workshops to help you settle in and adjust to uni life. We also have a comprehensive range of support services, including medical, counselling and mental health services, support for Indigenous students, the Ally Network (LGBTIQ), disability services, childcare, Career Connect and financial assistance. FAST TRACK TO SUCCESS Most of our pathway programs allow you to progress straight into the second year of your Monash degree on successful completion, or give you credit for the units you have studied (meaning you can take fewer subjects for one or two semesters of your degree). You won t waste time and may complete your pathway and degree in just three to four years. You might also receive credit for any previous university or TAFE/VET units you ve completed. FULL-TIME/PART-TIME Monash offers both full-time and part-time study options in most degree courses. You can enrol in just one unit or up to the maximum for your course (usually four units per semester). This gives you the flexibility to fit study in around the necessities of your life. FAIR ENTRY AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT We understand that your previous academic achievement might not reflect your true ability to succeed at university. We operate two entry schemes the Monash Guarantee and the Special Entry Access Scheme that you can find out about on page 12. We also have a generous scholarship program designed to help you make the most of all the opportunities that will come your way during your time at university. *Global Employability Rankings, 2011 2015 1

If you already meet the mathematics prerequisites, you ll take a unit in understanding knowledge and its contexts, which will help you to identify, compare and discuss different approaches to knowledge. Once you ve successfully completed DoTS you can get up to one year of credit towards a range of specified Monash degree courses. In addition to the direct pathways, you can apply for entry into other courses through VTAC after successfully completing DoTS. Make sure that you ve met the prerequisites for your chosen course. The Monash Access Program was the most suitable university pathway program for me because it gave me a smooth transition into tertiary education. While he enjoyed working he found that his lack of refined critical skills was holding him back, and began to understand the advantages of university study for his chosen career in IT.
