2017-2018 THIRD GRADE MATH (IXL) SUMMER ASSIGNMENT IXL Practice over the summer is an important way to maintain students hard earned math knowledge and get a first look at new skills. This year, instead of having just one set of skills for all students in a grade, we are targeting our work more specifically to students needs. At Step Up Day this year, math teachers will share with your child which of the lists below they should work on. If your child forgets which list they were assigned or if you have difficulty accessing IXL please contact Dr. Weiss over the summer at mitch.weiss@mot.k12.de.us. over the summer. In some cases, your child will be working on a skill they have already practiced this past year. This is intentional to allow them the repetition needed to permanently learn the skill. Once they finish a skill, IXL will allow them to go back to the beginning on that same skill and continue practicing. Summer IXL continues to be built on time practicing. Students entering third grade should complete 3 hours over the summer. Students should complete as many skills as possible in this time. Thank you so much for your help. Parent support is a huge part of your child s success in math.
