How do we become the people, the presbytery, the church we are called to be? How do we understand our relationship with one another? How do we learn about the variety of ministries, churches, concerns of our Presbytery? How can the Partnership with the Presbytery of Zimbabwe become more real and immediate in the life of every congregation? There are many answers to those questions, of course, but among them must be we pray. This Presbytery Prayer Guide invites us to pray for one another in the Presbytery of Denver. It offers the way to pray for our partners in the Presbytery of Zimbabwe. It gives the opportunity to see the scope of our ministries in the Presbytery and in the Presbyterian Church. It presents one way to grow closer to each other and, as we do, to experience God through prayer. Each week includes, again this year, a congregation of our Presbytery. We invite you to include these churches names and ministries in your services of worship. It is also a powerful sign of our common witness if you write a note to those pastors or clerks of session to let them know you are praying for them. We also, of course, are praying for our partners in Zimbabwe. Recently the Presbytery of Zimbabwe re-organized into three mission districts. We ask for your prayers as they begin this new way of ministering. We will pray for each district and, following the mention of the districts names, we will pray for the individual congregations and preaching stations in those districts. We also hope you will pray for our whole partnership, especially as we seek to live into a new Memorandum of Understanding. On the final line of a week s entry is a special concern, committee or work of the Presbytery and the larger church. We are grateful for all who serve the church and celebrate the unique ministries in the Presbytery. Together let us give thanks to God for all we share and through the grace of God in Jesus Christ serve with renewed energy, intelligence, imagination and love.
