To quickly access your table of contents, click Pearson Content. For a list of your customized items, click Custom Content. Select a Product To add a Pearson product to your Products and Classes, click Add Product. Choose Your Product In the Select Product window, select a product. Then, click Add Product. Select a Product Page 2

Create Your Class From your Home page, click Create Class. Step 1 Class Information Type the Class Name. The name you enter will appear to everyone that is enrolled in the class. Click Next to go to the next step. Create Your Class Page 3

Create Your Class Step 2 Products & Courses Custom products or courses provided by your organization: This is available if your organization has created custom courses. Pearson products or courses: This is available if your school has licensed content from Pearson. First, select the type of courses you want to use for the class. Choose later: You can add course content after you finish creating the class. Click Next to go to the next step. Choose the course you want to use for the class. Click Next. Create Your Class Page 4

Create Your Class To add users to your class roster, click Create New. Step 3 Enrollments To select student names from a list provided by your school, click Enroll from School. To upload student data from an.xls or.scv file, click Import Students.* Click Next to go to the next step. *The template for using a roster of students is available from a link on the screen when you choose Import Students. Note: Always check your school roster before adding students to avoid duplication. Create Your Class Page 5

Create Your Class Step 4 Confirmation Check your School, Class Name, Product, and Class Roster. Select Finish, or go Back to make changes. Your new class will now be visible on your Home page. Note: This may take a few minutes to process. Create Your Class Page 6

Finding Content From the Home page, click Pearson Content. Your Content page shows the List view by default. Viewing content Choose to view Pearson or Custom Content. Choose Student or Teacher Resources, or view All. Filter by Skill, Standard, Content type, or Topic. Search for materials by keyword. From the List view, you can choose to assign, preview, or customize an assignment from the dropdown menu for that item. Finding Content Page 7

Set Up Your Calendar From the Home page, click Pearson Content. Be sure to Select Your Program and Set Up Your Class before setting up your calendar. Opening your Calendar First, click Calendar. Then click Calendar Setup. Set Up Your Calendar Page 8

Set Up Your Calendar In the Schedule section, you add your classes to the calendar and schedule the class for the year. Click Add Class to add each of your classes to the schedule. Inside Calendar Set-up You can also add Blockout Days, which are days where there are no classes (such as holidays). Scroll down on the page to choose to view your calendar in daily, weekly, or monthly format. Click Finish. Your calendar will now appear on your Home page. Set Up Your Calendar Page 9

Assigning Content Select Calendar. Step 1 Selecting an Item First, from the Content dropdown menu: select Pearson to assign Pearson content select Custom to assign items you modified or created Next, select the item you wish to assign from the filtered list by clicking on the dropdown button next to the item name. Then select Assign from the item or folder options menu. You can also drag and drop items to your class to assign them. Assigning Content Page 10

Assigning Content Step 2 Assignment Options In the Select Classes section, select the classes that should receive the assignment. Click Assign to assign the item to all students in the classes you selected above. Click Advanced Assign to assign items: with different due dates for each class you selected to select students in each selected class Assign a due date and time for the item, or select No Due Date. Click Save and Assign. The assignment will now appear in your students To Do list, and on your Calendar. Assigning Content Page 11

Schedule Lesson Plans Select Calendar. Click Pearson for Pearson lesson plans or Custom to schedule lesson plans you modified or created. Step 1 Selecting a Lesson Plan You can schedule lesson plans for any class period. More than one lesson plan can be scheduled for a single period. You can schedule lesson plans individually or multiple plans at once. *Remember that this icon indicates lesson plans. From the Lesson Plan* or Lesson Plan folder**, click on the drop down options menu, then select Schedule. You can also drag and drop lesson plans to the Scheduled Resources box. **If you schedule a folder, you will schedule all lesson plans in the folder, including lesson plans in any subfolders. Schedule Lesson Plans Select the classes in which you want to use the lesson plan. Step 2 Setting preferences Select either: One Lesson Plan each day: A separate lesson plan is scheduled for each class period. Any blockout days that occur in the sequence are skipped. All resources on one day: The same lesson plans are scheduled for every class period. Select the date on which the lesson plan will be scheduled. Click Schedule. Assessment- Driven Writing Path Writing Coach s assessment-driven writing path uses a short, diagnostic writing test to assign a learner level to each student. A student s learner level determines which graphic organizer and writing assignment they receive for each assignment. Assigning the Writing Pre-Test First, go to the Assessments folder. Open the subfolder titled Writing Prompts for Practice and Progress Monitoring. Then, assign the Writing Pre-Test. Assessment-Driven Writing Path Page 16

Assigning the Feature Assignment First open the Interactive Student Writing Center folder by clicking on the expand button. Step 2 Then select the mode of writing you wish to assign by clicking the expand button. Assign the Interactive Writing Coach Personal Tutor by scrolling to the right of the activity and selecting assign. Or, you can preview the activity by selecting preview. Assigning the Feature Assignment Steps 3 and 4 will show you what a student will see when they open the feature assignment you assign. First, when students open the assignment, they can click on each of these colored bars to get instruction on each stage of the writing process for the mode you assigned. After drafting a paragraph, they can click Get Feedback to receive personalized support Once students have drafted an entire essay, they can click here to receive full essay feedback. Progress Monitoring Assign the Prompt for Progress Monitoring After students have completed the feature assignment for a particular mode of writing, you can assign them that mode s Prompt for Progress Monitoring. Assessment- Driven Grammar Path To begin the assessment-driven grammar path, open the Interactive Student Grammar Center folder. After opening the Interactive Student Grammar Center folder, you will see subfolders for each grammar chapter in the student edition. Finally, open the Auto Assign: Assessment- Driven Lesson folder. Assign the study plan for that particular grammar topic. Students will first take a diagnostic test on the contents of the grammar chapter. Based on their performance, they will receive practice questions and tests to complete. Assessment-Driven Grammar Path Page 22

Creating a Customized Writing Prompt Writing Coach allows you to create your own writing prompt. When you create your own prompt, students receive an overall score for their writing, as well as paragraph-level feedback.
