Home Page Orientation Click Help to access online Help. Click Messages to access your mail messages and announcements. 1 Click Support to access a link to Pearson Technical Support and copy computer information to the clipboard. Click Setup to add products, create classes, enroll students, and set up your calendar. Click the down-arrow next to your name to access your profile and log out. 2 Use the links to access Pearson curriculum, your custom content, the etext, and Product Support. 3 Click Enter Class to access the class overview page, manage coursework, grades, learner settings, and more. Click Go to Grades to access the Gradebook. 1 2 3 The tabs provide quick access to your classes, curriculum, and planner. The Classes dashboard provides quick access to new grades, items not passed or past due, and items that require grading. Items due today provide a graph that represents student submissions. Setup Wizard Click Check Settings to ensure you have the recommended browser and computer settings to use Pearson SuccessNet Plus. Click Setup to add products, create classes, enroll students, and set up your calendar. If enabled, click here to relaunch the Welcome Message. Click here to download and save a copy of the. Add Products From the Setup Wizard main menu, click Add Products. Click View Tutorial to watch the Add Products tutorial. Select one or more products to add to your account. After selecting products, click Save. Add Products Page 4

Create a Class To begin the class creation process, click Yes, Start Class Creation. Step 1 Add Class Information Click View Tutorial to watch the Create Classes tutorial. Type the class name. Then click Select Product. Create a Class Page 5

Create a Class Step 2 Select Product Use these options if you want to add a new product or select a product at a later time. Select one or more products to be used for instruction in the class. After making your selections, click Manage Enrollments. Create a Class Page 6

Create a Class Click Enroll from School first to search for students on the school roster. Select students and then add them to your class. Use this method to add additional teachers or teacher s aides to the class. Step 3 Manage Enrollments Click here to skip this step and add users to your class at a later time. Click Import Students to access a template for importing students from a file. After creating the import file, browse to the file location, select the file, and then click Import. Processing import files may take several minutes or several hours. Important Note: To avoid duplicating student accounts, upload the file one time. If an error message appears, check your pop-up blocker but do not upload the file again. Click Create New and select Student, Aide, or Teacher to create individual new accounts. After adding users to your class, click Save Class. Create a Class Page 7

Set Up Your Calendar To set up your Calendar, click Yes, Start Calendar Setup. Step 1 Set General Preferences Click View Tutorial to watch the Set Up Your Calendar tutorial. Select your time zone. Select a default display. After making your selections, click Schedule Classes. Set Up Your Calendar Page 8

Set Up Your Calendar Step 2 Schedule classes on your calendar to enable scheduling of teacher resources. Schedule Classes Enter the following information: Display name Class association Course association (curriculum used for instruction) Order on the calendar Display color for the Planner and the Classes dashboard on the home page*. Days of the week the class meets Click the plus sign next to Add Classes to enter information for additional classes. After entering information for one or more classes, click Set Important Dates. * Teachers change the display color of their class on the home page using this color selector. Set Up Your Calendar To remove an entry, check the box and then click Remove in the upper right corner. Step 3 Set Important Dates Add your important dates. These dates are skipped when assigning curriculum or scheduling teacher resources. Click the green plus sign next to Add Blockout Day to add additional days or date ranges. Set your grading periods. This creates filters in the gradebook. The default gradebook display is all gradable assignments with due dates for the current grading period when you create grading periods. Click the green plus sign next to Add Grading Period to add additional grading periods. After entering your information, click Save Calendar. Set Up Your Calendar Page 10

Set Up Complete After completing the calendar setup, select the option you would like to do next: Click Exit to return to the home page Click Add New Product to return to add additional products to your account Click Create New Class to create additional classes, or Click Revise Your Calendar to make changes or additions to your calendar To add additional products or classes or make changes to your calendar, click Setup in the upper right corner of your home page. Manage Enrollments From the class drop-down menu, select Enrollments to manage your class roster and reset student passwords. Click Create New to enroll or remove students, teachers, and teacher s aides. TIP! Always use Enroll from School to search for student accounts before manually creating new accounts. When students forget their password, select Reset Password from the student s drop-down list. Finding Content Page 12

Accessing Curriculum Viewing Curriculum Click the Curriculum tab, icon, or Table of Contents to access the Pearson Curriculum. Click here to access your Custom Content. Click this down-arrow to select a different curriculum. Select to view the curriculum by the Table of Contents, Skill, Standard, or Content Type. To search for materials, enter a keyword and then click the search icon to the right. Choose Student or Teacher, or All Resources. Narrow your search by making selections in one or more categories and then click View Results. Click the X to collapse the filters panel and expand the Table of Contents. Move your pointer over a title to display the down-arrow. Click the down-arrow and select Preview to display the item for class instruction. You can also opt to assign and customize the item. Assigning Content Click this down-arrow to select a different curriculum. Click the Planner tab to make assignments on the Planner. Select to display the planner by day, week, or month. Step 1 Selecting an Item Click the Calendar widget to select view a specific day. The view by day, week, or month will not change. Select to view the curriculum by the Table of Contents, Skill, Standard, or Content Type. To search for materials, enter a keyword and then click the search icon to the right. Move your pointer over a title of the item you wish to assign to display the down-arrow. Click the down-arrow and select Assign and then make your assignment selections. You can also drag and drop items to your class to assign them. Click Add Note to add personal notes or reminders. You can also make assignments from the Table of Contents on the Curriculum tab. Assigning Content Select one or more classes that should receive the assignment. Uncheck the box to assign the item without a due date. Items without due dates will always appear on each student s To Do list. Step 2 Assignment Options Assign a due date by clicking the date on the calendar and then set the time of day. Use Advanced Assign to assign items with different due dates for each class or to select students in each class. After making your selections for each option, click Save and Assign. The assignment now appears on each student s To Do list and on your Calendar. Assigning Content Page 15

Schedule a Teacher Resource Click the Planner tab to schedule lesson plans and other teacher resources on the Planner. Click this down-arrow to select a different curriculum. Step 2 Assignment Options Change the Resource Type to Teacher to view lesson plans and other teacher resources. Select to view the curriculum by the Table of Contents, Skill, Standard, or Content Type. You can also drag and drop lesson plans or teacher resources to the Scheduled Resources box to schedule them. Note: You can also schedule teacher resources from the Table of Contents on the Curriculum tab. Move your pointer over a title of the item you wish to schedule to display the down-arrow. Click the down-arrow and select Schedule and then make your assignment selections. Note: If you select a folder, you will schedule all lesson plans in the folder, including lesson plans in any subfolders. Schedule a Teacher Resource Page 16

Schedule Multiple Teacher Resources You can select multiple resources and drag them onto the calendar to schedule for one day. You can also select multiple resources and click Advanced Scheduling to set scheduling options. Select one or more classes. Select to add one resource to each day or schedule all resources on one day. Select the date to begin scheduling one resource per day or the date to schedule all resources. Use Your Gradebook To view the gradebook for a class, click Go to Grades from your teacher home page. Opening Gradebook OR Click the Classes tab and then click Grades. Use Your Gradebook Page 18

Students are listed in rows. 3 3 Study Plan and Lesson columns display icons that represent the completion status of assigned study plan activities and lessons. 5 8 2 4 6 7 1 4 5 6 7 Dashed lines mean the activity has not been started or submitted. Filters enable you to view grades for specific students or types of assignments. View All Submissions allows you to view student work, modify grades, and provide feedback. Click the down-arrow to the right of the activity title and select Hide for Students to remove the grade from the student view. 8 Export grades to keep an electronic copy or import into another gradebook program.
