A Bridge To A Degree One academic year full-time 33 weeks(2-3 years part-time) Aims to prepare students for undergraduate-level study in English Exposure to various teaching and learning methods, which encourage students to engage with the programme Exposure to various assessment methods Taught face-to-face in our Accredited Partner Centres
Learning Objectives Improve students English language ability to a level suitable for undergraduate study in English. Give students exposure to studying Business and/or Computing and/or Engineering subjects in English (including Maths) and develop their ability to recall information and solve problems in these areas. Build students key study skills and equip them to manage their studies in an effective manner. Increase students understanding of British culture or the culture in which they intend to study and build their confidence to integrate in an overseas environment.
Entry Requirements Students must have successfully completed secondary school education in an appropriate range of subjects AND EITHER Have the required minimum result in the NCC Education Standard English Placement Test (SEPT), available through Campus OR Have a valid score of 5.00 or above in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination or equivalent. It is expected that a student would normally have the maturity to undertake this programme at the age of 17.
Qualification Units 1 Students must successfully pass eight units in order to complete the qualification. Core units: English language units Developing English Language Skills (30 credits) Advanced English Language Skills (20 credits) English for Academic Purposes (10 credits) Study and Communication Skills (20 credits) Foundation Mathematics (10 credits) Culture Studies (10 credits)

Assessment Qualifications are assessed by: Global Examination Global Assignment Local Examination All assessments are set by NCC Education Principal Examiners. Assessment cycles: January, March, May, June, September Please note that the exact date of each assessment cycle changes from year to year. The annual Activity Schedule will provide information on the assessment dates for the year.

Performance and results A student is eligible to get the IFY Diploma should he/she get 40% marks ( pass) in all eight units 60% and above is considered Merit and 70% and above is considered Distinction. Each University has its own entry guidelines A unit can be retaken provided that the attempt is made within the eligibility period (three years).
