To view all the resources uploaded to Moodle, you will probably need to have Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or an equivalent (e.g. Open Office, Viewer) installed. 5. How to Login to Apex Moodle Site 1. Go to the http://moodle.apexaustralia.edu.au/login/index.php 2. Enter your Username (your student number) and Password and click Login or press Enter Login may fail due to several reasons: 1. CAPS lock is on the device you are using turn off caps lock and try 2. If your student id is APEX1234 you must type username as apex1234 3. Your details are probably not registered in the Moodle site Please contact Reception or email to studentservices@apexaustralia.edu.au if you have troubles with login Be security aware don't allow browsers in computer rooms to remember your login details. Section 1 - Updating your profile Moodle Guide for Students 1. Once you are logged into Moodle, you will see your name on the right hand side corner. By clicking your name you will see a drop down menu click on Preferences to: a. Edit your profile and upload your picture for your profile b. Section 2 - Accessing your course details after login 1. Once you are logged into Moodle, you will see Moodle home page with the course details. 2. Click the title of the course to view the course home page. 3. Once the course screen is open, you will see the units you are currently enrolled and learning and assessment resources listed for that unit 4. Section 3 - Assessment Resources and How to view Assignment in Moodle 1. After you click on the Assessment Resource Assignment, you will the screen similar to the one below. 2. Take note of the Due Date for submission 3. Click on the PDF file to open the assignment 4. Read the instructions in the assignment and prepare your assignment work 5. Section 4 - Assessment Resources and How to submit Assignment in Moodle 1. After completing your assignment work, you must upload your work under the same assignment. To do that follow below steps 2. After logged into Moodle follow steps given from Section 2 & 3 3. Click on Add Submission button (located at the bottom) 4. This submission can accept file types including MS Word, MS Excel, PDF and Images Before you upload an assignment file, ensure that: All files are in formats that the teachers will be able to access Include your student ID in each file name Apex Moodle Guide for Students, v1 Apr 2017 Page 6 of 10
Upload your assignment file 1. After you clicked on Add submission, you will see screen similar to the one below 2. Click on this icon to upload your assignment files 3. After you click the file picker button, you will see screen similar to the one below 4. Click on choose file to upload your assignment file 5. After the file has been uploaded, include your student id and assignment in the Save as text box (e.g. APEX1234 Assignment) 6. After this you must click on Submit assignment button to submit your assignment 10. After you clicked on Submit assignment button, you will see screen similar to the one below. 11. After you clicked on Continue button, you will screen similar to the one below. You will see Submitted for grading next to Submission Status. This means your assignment has been submitted to your assessor for marking. 12. After this you click on the Home link to go back to your course home page. Section 5 Logging out of Moodle Once you completed using the Moodle site, make sure you logout from your Moodle account to avoid someone else using your account.
