Post recruitment GP placements Practice will be notified by the Programme Director/Patch Office of trainees coming to the practice. Deanery gives the Medical Performers List the trainees contact details and name of practice. ST1 and ST2 trainees will be allocated a GP Trainer who will be their Educational Supervisor during their hospital posts. In some patches this is the Programme Director.
GP placements paperwork for trainee It is the responsibility of the trainee to complete and sign Form R Agreement between the Trainee and the Deanery These must be returned to the Deanery Educational Agreement between Trainer and Trainee This form is also signed by a Partner and the Practice Manager and kept by the Trainee and the Trainer.
Contract Framework for a written contract is on the website. The ST1/2 GP slot is separate from the third year GPR post, even where the GP ST1/2 slot comes immediately before the ST3 year and the trainee stays in the same practice. Each slot requires a separate contract and PAY1 form.
PAY forms PAY1 form completed at least 6 weeks before starting in post. Sets up trainee s salary and the training grant. PAY2 form to be completed whenever there is a change eg full time/part time; extension; period of sick leave or maternity leave Forms sent to Deanery for approval and then to PPSA

Leave - 1 Annual Leave StR00, StR01 and StR02 pay scale 25 days A/L (most GPRs) StR03 pay scale - 30 days A/L Sick Leave (PAY2) If total sick leave is more than 2 weeks, an extension may be required. Please inform the Deanery and the Patch Office.
Leave - 2 Maternity Leave (PAY2) 8 weeks full pay, 18 weeks half pay Annual leave is accrued pro rata during maternity leave (12.5 days for 6 months). Training is counted from the date of return from accrued A/L
