(worksheet) ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors After looking at data, the Program Assessment, and the school improvement plan, each school will determine yearly data driven SMART goals. 2
Identify current curriculum K 12 by using the Mindsets & Behaviors Planning Tool to identify and prioritize the specific knowledge, attitudes and skills students should be able to demonstrate as a result of your school counseling program. Annual Agreement Each school will utilize the Mindsets & Behaviors Planning Tool to identify curriculum demonstrated as a result of the school counseling program. Complete an Annual Agreement between each counselor and administrator clearly outlining the areas of responsibility to which the counselor is responsible. Each counselor will complete an Annual Agreement. Each counselor will have specific responsibilities. The Annual Agreement will be signed by the principal within the first 2 months of the school year. Advisory Council 3
Develop an advisory council that meets twice a year with stakeholders. The district will have an advisory council that will meet twice a year with stakeholders. Keep a list of all members and their stakeholder position. Take detailed minutes at each meeting. Provide an agenda to the members. Calendars Develop and publish an annual calendar of school counseling events to ensure that staff, students, parents and administrators know what counseling activities are scheduled and when and where activities will be held. Each school will develop an annual calendar of activities for their building. Calendars will be published and distributed to all stakeholders. 4
Conduct a Use of Time assessment. (Excel template with formulas) Monthly Calendars Weekly Calendars Each counselor will conduct a time and task analysis. Results will be tabulated and compared to ASCA recommended guidelines. A monthly calendar will be developed to show details of the annual calendar. Each counselor will document all activities during a week. A weekly calendar will be done in the fall and spring. School Counseling Core Curriculum Action Plan and Lessons Plans Develop a core curriculum action plan that documents your school counseling curriculum. Core Curriculum is delivered to ALL students per grade level. Each school will show their core curriculum action plan that documents their curriculum. 5
Three different lesson plans for activities from the school counseling core curriculum action plan. Each school will select 3 lesson plans from the action plan that are linked to #1 4 of RAMP. Will show a highly detailed plan for evaluation of the lessons. These 3 lesson plans will have results data. School Counseling Core Curriculum: Results Report Provide a results reports for the core curriculum action plan that analyzes the three lessons highlighted. Each school will show results from the 3 selected lessons in the action plan. The data will show process, perception and outcomes. Small Group Responsive Services Create a list of all small groups. Each school will list all small groups 6

(4 to 10 sessions) Closing the Gap Results Report Provide a Closing the Gap results report that ties into the goals. Each school will choose a Closing the Gap area based on the program goals. Each school will show results from the selected Closing the Gap action plan. The data will show process, perception and outcomes. 7
