O URTHER STUDY ABROAD OPPORTUNITIES: 2016-17 1

OUR LEGACY international.nd.edu/study-abroad @UNDIntl 2

3 Since 1964, Notre Dame has been sending students to study abroad programs around the world. More than 50% of Notre Dame undergrads study abroad for credit before graduation. Notre Dame ranks among the top 10 PhD-granting institutions for undergraduate study abroad participation. OUR COMMITMENT At Notre Dame, we think every student should have an opportunity to study abroad before graduating. That s why we are hard at work developing programs to suit a wide variety of schedules and interests making study abroad accessible to all students. YOUR CHOICE We hope you will be intentional, creative, and bold as you consider the international education experience that best suits your interests. It is never too early to begin planning and your Study Abroad program advisors are here to help you with every step of the process.

DEEPER ENGAGEMENT FOR GLOBAL AWARENESS... BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM Students who give the most to their study abroad experience tend to get the most back and bring the most to future employers, graduate programs, and charitable organizations. Consider supplementing your study abroad experience: Internships: Some programs are connected with internship opportunities. Some are coordinated through host institutions, but many are coordinated through the Career Center. Visit GoIrish to learn more. Research: In addition to applying to Kennedy Scholars (London), International Scholars (Rome), and Global Business Scholars (Singapore, Milan, and South Bend), ask your academic advisors and program staff how you can access local resources, archives, and other research materials either for classes abroad or to get a jump start on your senior thesis. Service: Students participate in a wide variety of community engagement opportunities in almost every program location. Discuss your options with Study Abroad program advisors before you leave and on-site host staff once you arrive. Get in touch with the relevant Study Abroad program manager with locationspecific questions.

7 TAKING THE NEXT STEP international.nd.edu/study-abroad @UNDIntl AM I ELIGIBLE?
