INTRODUCTION PowerSchool Parent Portal gives parents access to realtime information including attendance, grades, school bulletins, and even personal messages from the teacher. Everyone stays connected and parents are able to participate more fully in their student s progress.
GETTING STARTED To get started, you must log into the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Navigate to our Website at www.lphs.net Click on Parents -Click on PowerSchool Or Navigate directly to lphs.powerschool.com
LOG IN SCREEN Each parent/guardian will be assigned for each student they have enrolled in LaSalle-Peru High School, a username and password. Parents/Guardians should have received this information in the 2009-2010 Q1 Report Card. NOTE: When you enter your password it will appear as dots (.) or asterisks (*) for privacy/security reasons.
START PAGE When you log in the start page appears which contains the Navigation Bar, Main Menu, and Printer Icon. GRADES AND ATTENDANCE From the main menu click on the Grades and Attendance icon. View grades and attendance for the student for the current term. Doe, Jane LaSalle-Peru High School Grades and Attendance Icon
GRADES AND ATTENDANCE SCREEN On the Grades and Attendance screen you will see the student s overall current grade for each period/subject. To view grade details, click a grade in the term column. The Class Score Detail page appears. NOTE: Any text in blue in PowerSchool is a link to another screen. Click on a blue word or phrase and you will open up another screen. CLASS SCORE DETAIL SCREEN From the Class Score Detail page you may click on an assignment which is in blue text under the assignment column to view a description of the assignment.note: Use your browser Back button to return to the Grades and Attendance page. Doe, Jane LaSalle-Peru High School
ATTENDANCE On the Grades and Attendance screen click on a number in the Absence or Tardies column to view the absences or tardies for the selected class during this term. The Dates of Attendance page will appear. L-P s Term Columns are Q1, Q2, F1, E1, S1)
DATES OF ATTENDANCE SCREEN The Dates of Attendance page displays all absences or tardies for a specific class.
ATTENDANCE To view the absences or tardies for ALL classes during the current term, click a number in the Attendance Totals row. The Dates of Absence or Dates of Tardies page will appear. DATES OF ABSENCE OR DATES OF TARDIES SCREEN The Dates of Absence or Dates of Tardies page displays all absences or tardies.

GRADES HISTORY SCREEN The Grades History page displays stored Q1, Q2, S1 grades.
GRADES HISTORY Click a grade in the % column; the Class Score Detail Page will appear.
CLASS SCORE DETAIL SCREEN The Class Score Detail page lists the assignments associated with the current final grade for the period/subject. A caret (^) indicates score is exempt from the final grade. An asterisk (*) indicates an assignment is not included in the final grade. The number one (1) indicates this final grade may include assignments that are not yet published by the teacher. It may also be a result of special weighting used by the teacher. Click the special weighting link for more information. Doe, John LaSalle-Peru High School
ATTENDANCE HISTORY From the start page click on Attendance History to view the student s attendance record for the current term. There are several ways to view attendance this method is in addition to the methods outlined earlier. Doe, John LaSalle-Peru High School Attendance History Icon
EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS Setting up email notifications in the parent portal allows parents/guardians to receive notices from the school via email regarding student s grades, attendance, assignments, school bulletins, and balance alerts. Enter your email address using commas to separate multiple email addresses (do not use any spaces), for example: jane.doe@domain.com,john.doe@domain.org Specify what email notices you would like to receive and how often. Click submit to save your changes.
TEACHER COMMENTS Click on the Teacher Comments icon to view any comments the teacher(s) may have entered regarding such things as student s achievement and/or behavior. You may click on the teacher s name (in blue) to send them an email. NOTE: If you do not see any comments (information) the teacher has not entered any for the student. You may email the teacher if you do not see any information. Click on a teacher s name to send them an email. Comments appear here.
SCHOOL BULLETINS Use the School Bulletins page to read any bulletins the school or district has posted. This is an excellent way to stay informed. You will view the current days bulletins or you may use the date link at the bottom of the page to view bulletins for another day.

CLASS REGISTRATION Class Registration is not available at this time
