All the selected candidates are awarded Government of India fellowship @ ` 5,000/- p.m. (Rupees Five Thousand per month only). There are no other allowances. 2. All the selected candidates must confirm their acceptance of the offer in writing or by email before 5.00 p.m. on 15 th June, 2016. 3. All the selected candidates are hereby informed that they are required to pay their fees via online portal viz; Online Payment of Fees on the Institute s website on or before 24 th June, 2016 failing which their admission shall be cancelled. For this purpose, all the students have the option to use their credit cards or debit cards or make direct online bank transfer. Those who do not have any of these options can use offline mode to fill in required particulars, print payment slip and remit by cash or cheque or by account transfer at any of the local SBI branch offices. All the students should submit a copy of remittance slip each to the Academic Section and Accounts Section, respectively, at the time of joining the programme for records. 4. All the selected candidates are required to join the programme on the opening day of the programme, i.e. 11 th July, 2016. 5. All the candidates must produce all their original mark sheets and certificates at the time of joining failing which admission will not be offered. 6. Candidates must produce proof of having secured 55% and 50% of aggregate marks in General/OBC and SC/ST/PH categories, respectively, failing which admission will Page: 1
stand cancelled. Candidates must produce mark sheets of all semesters (atleast 4 semester results in case of candidates awaiting results) at the time of admission. Those candidates who have applied with their results awaited for final year qualifying examinations viz; B.A., B.Sc., etc. MUST produce their final year mark sheet and provisional/degree certificate latest by September 30, 2016. 7. Candidates belonging to reserved categories must produce original caste certificate at the time of joining. In case of OBC category, non-creamy layer certificate issued by competent authority in the previous financial year (1 st April 2015 to 31 st March 2016) must be submitted, failing which admission will stand cancelled. 8. MODEL ADMISSION ORDER ADMISSION ORDER No.Aca/MPS/ /16 June 1, 2016 Shri/Smt./Kum. is hereby informed that the Admission Committee of the Institute has selected him/her for admission to the Master of Science in Biostatistics and Demography at this Institute for 2016-2018 session. He/She has been awarded a Government of India fellowship @ ` 5,000/- per month. There are no other allowances. The period of fellowship is 21 months or till the end of the academic session 2017-2018, whichever is earlier. He/She should produce certificates of age, academic qualifications and other testimonials (in original) and copies of research/published papers, if any, at the time of joining the course. 1. If the candidate is currently employed, he/she should bring with him/her: (i) (ii) No Objection Certificate from the employer, if the application was not forwarded through proper channel. A certificate from the employer that on completion of the training he/she will be absorbed by the employer to the same post/any other suitable higher post. 2. Hence, the selected candidates are required to report on the opening day, without fail. During the period of fellowship you shall be a full-time student at the Institute. Candidate is strictly not allowed to draw or receive any salary, emolument, stipend, etc. from any other source during the tenure of the award. If found violated, his/her admission will be cancelled without any further notice. All the candidates must produce all their original mark sheets and certificates at the time of joining failing which admission will not be offered. Candidates must produce proof of having secured 55% and 50% of aggregate marks in General/OBC and SC/ST/PH categories, respectively, failing which admission will stand cancelled. Those awaiting results must produce mark sheet at least upto 4 th semesters to fulfill the above condition. They become eligible to receive fellowship only upon submission of final marks fulfilling the minimum marks eligibility criteria. Candidates belonging to reserved categories must produce original caste certificate at the time of joining. In case of OBC category, non-creamy layer certificate issued by competent authority in the previous financial year (1 st April 2015 to 31 st March 2016) must be submitted, failing which admission will stand cancelled. The hostel accommodation will be provided as per the rule of the Institute and is subject to the availability. The admission is subject to the candidate passing the medical examination conducted by the Medical Officer appointed by the Institute and his/her executing a bond as given in (xii) below. The candidates are not entitled to any kind of leave during the course. But in special circumstances, leave upto a maximum of 4 days in a semester period may be granted, with prior permission of the Director. A schedule of fees to be paid by the students is enclosed. The candidates are required to pay their deposits on joining the programme to the Cashier of the Institute in Cash. The deposits will be returned only on producing `No Due Certificate from the library, Computer Centre, Hostel and Accounts. The candidates are required to execute a bond that he/she will faithfully and honestly observe all the terms and conditions mentioned above and also such other instructions as may be amended from the time to time during the period of his/her study/training at the Institute for the entire academic session. In the event of his/her failure to observe any of the terms and conditions stipulated or in the event of his/her discontinuing training/study, the fellowship will be discontinued and he/she will have to refund the whole amount of fellowship received by him/her till that date. 3. The fellowship may be terminated if: (a) (b) (c) the candidate fails to produce final year (B.A./B.Sc.) marks sheet and degree/provisional passing certificate latest by 30 th September, 2016, his/her performance in the first and subsequent semesters is not found satisfactory, or his/her conduct is found unsatisfactory on the basis of indiscipline of any act as is likely to undermine the prestige of the Institute, or endanger harmony of academic life of the Institute or is likely to violate the rules of the institute. In case the fellowship is terminated, he/she will be required to refund the whole of the fellowship money drawn till that date provided the action against him/her has not been contemplated on the ground of unsatisfactory performance as stated above in Clause (b). 4. He/She should produce Migration Certificate within three months from the date of admission. Shri/Smt/Kum. should acknowledge receipt of this letter and let the undersigned know if he/she is prepared to accept the offer on the terms and conditions mentioned above. In case the offer is accepted, he/she should confirm acceptance to the undersigned in writing, immediately and no later than June 15, 2016. If no reply is received, it will be presumed that he/she is not interested in the offer, and next person in the waiting list will be given the offer. WHEREAS THE above bounden (student) has been nominated for a Fellowship leading to Master of Science in Biostatistics and Demography programme of the International Institute for Population Sciences, Mumbai, and is entitled to a scholarship of `. 5,000/- per month for a period of two years subject to rules and regulations laid down by the Institute in this behalf, NOW THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE WRITTEN OBLIGATION IS THAT IN THE EVENT OF THE above bounden (student) (a) (b) (c) (d) not conforming to or observing the terms and conditions subject to which the scholarship has been awarded to him/her; or committing any misconduct involving moral turpitude; or discontinuing the research/study before the completion of period of the offer of fellowship without the prior approval of the director; or failing to refund to the Director any excess payment received by him/her knowingly during the continuance of the said scholarship; or not devoting his/her full time towards researches/studies in the Institute and appearing for any other examination or undertaking any job during the term of fellowship; he/she, the said student and the above bounden _ (surety) shall forthwith refund to the Institute on demand all monies paid to the student in respect of the said scholarship and interest thereupon calculated at fixed Government rates then in force for Government loans, from the date of demand. AND upon making such refund/payment the above written obligation shall be void and of no effect, otherwise it shall be and remain in full force and virtue. PROVIDED ALWAYS THAT the liability of the said (surety) hereunder shall not be impaired or discharged by the reason of time being granted any forbearance, act or omission of the International Institute for Population Sciences of any person authorised by the International Institute for Population Sciences (whether with or without the consent or knowledge of the said (surety) in enforcing the condition of the above Bond nor shall it be necessary for the International Institute for Population Sciences to due the said (surety) for amounts due hereunder.
