Article 1 includes 1 attachment G:\Coredata\Curriculum\Learning Area VET and Senior Schooling\Student pathways\sat's\advertisements\sat Current Opportunities Advertisements.docx School Based Apprenticeship and Traineeship Opportunities School-based apprenticeships and traineeships (SATs) are one of the senior schooling pathways available for students at this school. A SAT will allow students typically in Years 11 and 12 to study for their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), work for an employer and earn a wage, and train towards a recognised vocational qualification, while completing high school. Students in Year 10 may also do a SAT. Depending on the qualification and when the SAT is started, many students can complete a school-based traineeship while at school and schoolbased apprenticeship provides a head start into a full-time or part-time apprenticeship and career. We will now be including with our newsletter a list of currently advertised school-based traineeship positions. Information on advertised positions can also be sourced by students at school through the Student Intranet > Traineeships tab or through daily student notices. All students in years 10, 11 and 12 who are enrolled in a VET Certificate course will need to have a USI in order to be issued a printed Certificate of Completion or Statement of Attainment for their achievements. A USI can be created by going to www.usi.gov.au and following the prompts to create a USI. The process takes minutes and there is no cost involved. All that is required is adequate identification such as a birth certificate or Medicare card. Students not able to create a USI at home are welcome to bring their identification details to school where they will be assisted in creating their USI. More information about the Unique Student Identifier can be obtained from www.usi.gov.au and assistance at school can be found from Mr Ward or Mrs Edyvean in the U Block staff centre.
