Training sessions in this catalogue focus on the key competencies of international aid work: knowledge of the international aid sector and pre-departure preparation, human resources, training of trainers, finance and donors, project management, safety and security, technical logistics and supply chain. This new system is added to help you choose the most appropriate session according to your objective. You wish to strengthen, adapt or update a specific area of a key competency. Training objectives To enable participants to choose and apply appropriate tools to manage all stages of the project cycle in humanitarian contexts: Demonstrate an understanding and awareness of the human resources initiatives in terms of quality and accountability in the wider context of the quality landscape in the aid sector. Explain the purpose of the Project Cycle Management (PCM) approach Outline steps in the Project Cycle Describe essential tools and methods for the Project Cycle Management (PCM) Describe the purpose of assessments in the programme cycle Describe appropriate assessment methodologies and tools Define indicators and describe their importance and use in programme management Describe the purpose of planning in the project and programme cycle Explain the logic of the Log frame Build the main elements in the Log frame Plan a schedule for activities and resources using PERT and Gantt techniques. Draw links with the implementation and M&E steps Describe the purpose of monitoring in the programme cycle Explain the differences and links between Monitoring and Evaluation Create a monitoring plan for a programme based on the Log Frame Describe the purpose of evaluation in the programme cycle Describe the evaluation cycle List and define the evaluation criteria Identify appropriate evaluation tools Training methodologies Experience sharing and peer-learning. Learning by doing with exercises and case studies related to NGO management practices. Concepts and behavioural understanding by situation modelling. Introduction of analysis grids and tools that can be adjusted to each context. Number of participants Groups may vary according to the type of session and training (case studies, group work, etc.). Evaluation process Monitoring session A learning review is planned every day with the facilitator. The general aim of this activity is to assess trainee achievement of learning outcomes and to adapt content to trainees expectations and learning objectives. Evaluation & lessons learned of the training: A monitoring session is organized at the end of the training to give the opportunity to the trainees to share their opinion on the courses and to assess the quality of the module. The richness of exchanges among the trainees strengthens learning and the quality of the programmes throughout the training period. Knowledge assessment An individual exam for the training module is organised. This exam may consist of theoretical questions, exercises or case study linked with the module s learning outcomes. The student has to obtain a minimum of 10 out of 20 to successfully complete the module. Supervisory/guidance of the training Online guidance could be asynchronous and synchronous and will be provided by the trainer according to the following ways and means: Asynchronous exchanges on our learning platform for all group members, 25 hours of training: Discussing on training objectives, presentations, learning platform and organization Posting instructions and messages Answering questions on training contents and learning activities Marking trainees work / giving feedbacks Sharing experience Communicating on training results: attendance and grade certificates Individual asynchronous or synchronous exchanges for the trainee follow-up and group management, 8 hours in average for each training: Guiding group works Managing possible contentious situations between trainees Motivating trainees if needed Facilitating synchronous plenary sessions one hour every week or two weeks on Big Button, 5 hours. Participation evaluation The participation follow-up for each trainee is based upon two criteria: Administrative follow-up : realized activities, number of actions on the platform, participation on online discussions, Educational follow-up : individual and group works submitted, trainer follow-up, exam Evaluation methods: Attendance certificate: Internet connection Participation certificate: 80% of the activities realized Grade certificate: the average mark at the exam Institut Bioforce Open trainings Page 3

Length of the training: 8 weeks, 80 hours among which: 28 hours for practical and case studies (individual and group works) 26 hours for online exchanges with the trainer 20 hours for independent learning (10 to 15 online training and quiz games) 5 hours for synchronous exchanges 1 hours for the final exam During the training For our online trainings Our training will be on our learning platform, Biomoodle. After the training You will receive a Certificate of Attendance (issued on the condition of being present throughout the training). No level of national certification yet. Given the limited number of places in each training, we advise you to apply as soon as possible. To secure your place in the training you must send us the full training fees and the signed quote.
