Moon Area School District Board of Education Regular Board Meeting March 13, 2017 This is an unofficial report of school board action. At the March 13, 2017, Regular Board Meeting, school directors APPROVED/AUTHORIZED the following: Approval of the minutes from the meetings held on February 13 and February 27, 2017, and the following reports as reflected in the March Financial Report: o Treasurer's Report o Investment Report o Board Summary Report o High School/Middle School Activities Report o Food Service Profit and Loss Report o Procurement Card Report Approval of the bills for payment as listed in the March Financial Report from March 1, 2017 - March 10, 2017: General Fund $299,974.96 Activity Fund $5,936.33 Food Services Fund $475.00 Capital Projects Fund $12,718.98 Capital Reserve Fund $421.02 Total: $319,526.29 Approval of the MASD Comprehensive Plan for July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2020. Approval to accept the Chevron Grant for Project Lead the Way to continue implementation in the 2018-2019 school year in the elementary schools. Approval of the Parkway West General Operating Budgets for 2017-2018. Approval of the proposed 2017-2018 AIU Program of Services Budget for $2,034,004.00. The Allegheny County (AIU3) school districts total contribution to
the budget is $1,835,198.00. MASD s contribution is estimated to be $68,776 and will be determined by PDE according to the District Aid Ratio and Weighted Average Daily Membership (WADM). Approval of the lease agreement between the AIU Pre-K Counts Program and MASD Approval of the lease agreement between the AIU Head Start Program and MASD Approval of the lease agreement between the AIU Dart Program and MASD Approval of the agreement between the AIU and MASD for consultation services to support the ESL program and teachers during the 2017-2018 school year in the amount of $630.00. Approval for the Board of Education to vote for Mary D. Birks (Mt. Lebanon School District) to serve as the School Board Trustee for the Western Region. Approval of Leave of Absence that the Board of Education approve a Leave of Absence to Susan Bugay from her Special Education Assistant position at Brooks Elementary School. II. Approval of Dishwasher/Server that the Board of Education approve Brenda Laird to the Dishwasher/Server position (3.25 hours) at the Middle School for the 2016-2017 school year. III. Resignation that the Board of Education accept the resignation from Cindy Benson from her position as Cook at the Middle School effective March 17, 2017. IV. Approval of Drama Club Co-Sponsor that the Board of Education approve Laura Mitchell as co-sponsor of the Drama Club retroactive to September 1, 2016 for the purpose of authorizing club payments. V. Approval of Coaches for the 2017 Spring Sports Season that the Board of Education approve the following coaches for the 2017 spring sports season per the recommendation of Mr. Ron Ledbetter, pending receipt and review of clearances: JV Softball Coach (A-2) Tyler Krokonko Joseph Brace John Petropoulos Todd Aughton. IX. Approval of Coaches for the 2017 Fall Sports Season that the Board of Education approve the following coaches for the 2017 fall sports season per the recommendation of Mr. Ron Ledbetter, pending receipt and review of clearances: MS Boys Soccer (A-1) MS Boys Soccer (A-3) Tyler Blake Eric Kopay. X. Approval of STA Driver that the Board of Education approve the following individual employed by STA as a van driver or school bus driver for the Moon Area School District for the 2016-2017 school year, pending receipt and review of clearances. XII. Extra Pay for Extra Duty - Odyssey of the Mind that the Board of Education approve a one-time additional stipend of $1,000 each to the Odyssey of the Mind coordinators to coordinate the district s hosting of the Pennsylvania Odyssey of the Mind competition in April 2017: Jennifer Wihelm High School OM Tracey Spinelli Middle School OM Heidi Gariti Elementary OM.
