How VHS Works Students can only take courses that are NOT offered at Bishop McDevitt High School and must follow McD Curriculum Students must apply for acceptance into the VHS program Students access courses through the internet in school and at home Period where you would normally have a study hall you will report to a computer lab to access your online class All work is completed and submitted online Up to 25 students per class: Participate in class discussions Use web tools to gather and share resources and ideas Collaborate on group projects
Course Levels, Commitment & Credit Time commitment by course level (includes class time) Standard level = 6-8 hours per week Honors level = 8-10 hours per week Advanced Placement = 10-12 hours per week VHS Credit and Grading One full (1.0) credit for courses through VHS Grades will be based on McDevitt s grading scale All students follow the VHS calendar Cost McDevitt pays the basic tuition for VHS Courses There is additional $75 charge for AP classes which the student must pay Some AP Science classes have a lab fee which the student must also pay. Students who do not receive a grade of 70 or higher will be responsible for reimbursing Bishop McDevitt
