Announcement of four EVS-vacancies for the March 2018 Start! The Auslandsgesellschaft Sachsen-Anhalt (AGSA) is pleased to announce four vacancies in four projects for the 4 th October deadline in the EVS (Erasmus+ programme). The volunteer activities start from the 1 st of March 2017 with the duration of one year (till 28 February 2019) in different youth projects with local and international activities or projects for youth information: Live and learn in the One-World House Auslandsgesellschaft Sachsen- Anhalt The Auslandsgesellschaft Sachsen-Anhalt (AGSA) is an NGO organization with more than 30 member organizations in the areas of development policy, European and international exchanges and the integration of immigrants into German society. The organizations offer activities such as: educational work in development policy, tolerance between people with different cultural background, consultation of migrants and promotion of refugee protection, immigration and integration. Every summer AGSA organizes "Eurocamp" - an international youth project with approx. 70 participants from over 30 countries. The volunteer is involved in organizing, preparing and carrying out Eurocamp. The volunteer participates in activities in local community: organization of Language café, planning and organizing events for democracy, tolerance and Europe, sharing their experience together with others on our website, social networks in publications, posters and leaflets, supporting the cooperation between the partner cities, informing young people about opportunities in Europe. 1, work together with European volunteer from Serbia and Russia Cultural Bridges Meridian e.v. (membership organisation of AGSA) The cultural and social union Meridian is a member of AGSA organization since 1999. The organization supports the integration of the people from Eastern Europe living currently in Germany by multifaceted events in the area of art, education, culture and sports. All age groups from pupils up to the pensioners are included in the events of Meridian. The tasks of the volunteer incudes supporting intercultural and education events for teenagers in the oneworld house and other places in Magdeburg, design a multilingual online newspaper with youngsters from Zaporizhia and Magdeburg, organizing dancing and theatre studios for childen, support the multilingual work at the web page of the organization arrange exhibitions or create publications, leaflets and more media and communication/ youth information local community/ youth and children 1, preferably for youngsters from Russia or Ukraine Citizen Power TV - Offener Kanal Magdeburg e. V. Offener Kanal Magdeburg e. V. is a television broadcaster and one of the AGSA s member organizations. The volunteer will have the opportunity to gain experience in a broad range of areas. He / she will assist in the production of various programmes and films, particularly in the areas of script, camerawork and cutting. The volunteer will be involved in the recording of live events, such as concerts, theatres, debates, etc., and will also assist in the production of the intercultural youth magazine Jugendstil ( Youth Style). In addition, the volunteer will have the chance to produce his / her own film. Further areas of activity include general organizational tasks (such as technical work, archiving, programming, etc.) as well as assistance in the presentation of video workshops in schools and youth centers. 2
media and communication/ youth information youth and children/ local community 1, work together with European volunteers from Ukraine and Russia Youth for town (t)winning Deutsch-Polnische Gesellschaft Sachsen-Anhalt (DPG) The German-Polish Society of Saxony-Anhalt was founded in February 1998. We unite in our ranks representatives of science, industry, education and culture, the regional parliament and NGO. We a contact partner for institutions, universities and companies in the country Saxony- Anhalt regarding questions of Poland. With the implementation of events, lectures and study tours as well as conferences and seminars, the company is committed to a better understanding between Germans and Polish and for more knowledge about the neighboring country Poland and Polish society in Saxony- Anhalt. Our society is a member of the umbrella organization of the German-Polish societies in Germany. The tasks of the volunteer includes creating together with voluntary employees cultural projects in the context of the town twinning Radom-Magdeburg and the cooperation between Masowien and Saxony-Anhalt, create or support intercultural activities of one-world house, by the DPG or by the AGSA, support intercultural workshops to the Polish culture and language, editorial work on the website and social media. European awareness/ youth information/ media and communication local community / youth and children for volunteers: 20 th September 2017 (apply to 04 th October 2017 in the 1, preferably for youngsters from Poland Common Activities Besides the duties related to each project, we offer every volunteer to take part in other common activities, such as: 3
- Language Café, a meeting place for native speakers - attending and taking an active part in intercultural activities - creating their own projects - activities and projects for democracy and tolerance in the local community (Mile for Democracy, Day of Sachsen-Anhalt, Europe week, Intercultural week and more) - organize welcoming activities for refugees and other foreign people - share your experience together with other volunteers on our website and social networks - support the cooperation between the partner cities of Magdeburg (Le Havre, Zaporizhia, Sarajevo and Radom) and partner regions of Saxony-Anhalt (Centre/ France, Masowien/ Poland and Valencia/ Spain) General conditions All projects are located in Magdeburg, the capital of Sachsen-Anhalt. The accommodation for the volunteers is a shared community-flat, shared with European or national volunteers from ours and others organization but and with students. The volunteers will have their own room and share kitchen and bathroom with flat mates. Food money will be paid out to you every 1 st of the month, the pocket money will be paid out on 15 th every month as well as money to buy the local transportation monthly ticket, or instead you can get a bike. The volunteers will have the opportunity to attend a regular German language course. The type of language course offered will depend partly on the volunteer s language skills; volunteers with little or no knowledge of German will be able to attend an intensive three-week language course, and all volunteers will be able to attend a weekly course thereafter. The volunteer will be supported by mentor during the non-formal learning process. The volunteer will be sent to the on arrival training and the obligatory mid-term-meeting organized by the National Agency. Application procedure Interested volunteers should send us their applications directly to efd@agsa.de until the 20 th September. The application must include the curriculum vitae, a personal motivation letter and the filled application form. Interested volunteers should also have a sending organisation. After this date we will begin to process the applications; We will finish the preselection at last by 24 rd of September, volunteers should be prepared to take part in a skype interview if 4
necessary. After we will prepare the application form and activity agreement with the sending organisation and the volunteer and apply to the national agency for 4 th October dateline.
