RECORD BOOK INFORMATION AND RESOURCES Record Books are to be turned into the Extension Office on Monday, Sept. 16 by 4:29 p.m. or before. This also makes you eligible for a free Record Book t-shirt! 2015 CWF participants MUST COMPLETE and TURN IN a Record Book on time! Record keeping is an ongoing process that does not end or begin with the Fremont County Fair. This is a yearly project that will teach you life skills and hold your 4-H history. ORDER OF RECORD BOOK: Cover Sheet Please include a picture of yourself, name, club, age and grade completed of record year. Table of Contents Do not worry about page numbers! List things in order found in book. Yearly 4-H Summary (REQUIRED) This consists of ALL your activities in this past r4-h program year. Include home, school and community. Personal Goal Record (REQUIRED) Project Write Up (REQUIRED) Complete new STEM-O-GRAM write up form for EACH project enrolled, even if not taken to fair. DO NOT use the beginner, advanced or experienced project forms. Project Worksheets (REQUIRED) The following projects have worksheets that need completed. There are: Crop Production, Beef, Dairy, Dog, Cat, Pet, Horse, Horticulture, Photography first year project, Poultry, Rabbit, Sheep, and Swine. Project Related Pictures Show pictures of you working on or with your projects! 4-H Story (REQUIRED) THIS IS A REQUIREMENT and should not be a repeat of the yearly summary. Include things you did 4-H meetings, club activities, community service, future plans, and what 4-H has taught you! Supporting Materials This could be club minutes, newspaper articles and pictures. DO NOT include ribbons, receipts, or letters. Record Keeping Self-Evaluation - Be HONEST with yourself! Previous Year s Records - PUT CURRENT YEAR ON TOP! ONLINE RECORD BOOK FORMS! Record Book Workshop and Computers! Monday, August 26 5-7 p.m. p.m. at Extension Office DEADLINE: Friday, Aug. 23 Thursday, Sept. 12 5-7 p.m. at Extension Office DEADLINE: Tuesday, Sept. 9 If you would like to attend a Record Book Workshop at the Extension Office please call the office 712-374-2351 and leave your name and which day you would like to attend! **We have computer laptops available at the office and a work area for you to prepare your Record Book forms and print them off! County Council Year End and Start Up All 2012-13 County Council members are asked to attend an end of the year wrap up and planning session on Thursday, August 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Extension Office. We will evaluate the past year and help plan the 2012-13 COUNTYWIDE AWARDS NIGHT sponsored by the Youth Committee. Also on the agenda will be discussion of a County Council overnight retreat. REMINDER: Applications for the 2013-14 County Council need to be turned into the office by Friday, Sept. 20. Those who are senior 4-H members (9-12th grade) are eligible to apply! Region 17 Table Setting News The Council Bluffs Public Library was the location of the 2013 Regional table Setting competition on Tuesday, July 30. Lydia received a purple ribbon in the junior casual division and Jessica was awarded the Grand Champion Senior plaque in casual division. Table Setting continues to grow in popularity. Other regions in Iowa are beginning to sponsor Table Setting at 2 0 1 3 Fremont County Fair on Sunday was busy with all kinds children and family activities. 201213 County Council members participated by hosting a working exhibit demonstration. Future Happenings: Re-Enroll for the 2012-13 4-H program year Anyone remember the 4honline Rap??? After midnight September 15th, you can re-enroll 24/7 for the 2012-13 program year! If you will be in your first year as a 4-H er, remember that if your family has a profile already, you can be added there. If not, please contact the office so we may help you set up a FAMILY PROFILE for the first year 4-H er! Follow this link to the 4honline webpage: 4honline Countywide Awards Night tentatively Sunday, Oct. 20 or 27th The Youth Committee and 2013-14 County Council will be working together to plan a Countywide Awards Night. This is not to replace Club Family Nights, but to bring everyone together who got State and County sponsored awards, along with food and fellowship! Club Family Nights These events are usually held in November and include special club awards or recognition, as well as a great night for new families or members to 4-H! Let the office know as soon as possible when and where these events will be held. (Remember, this is a special night and does not qualify as a regular meeting for club attendance.) New Member Outings What is your club doing to recruit new members? Consider a social club event/outing. There does not need to be a meeting. National 4-H Week is in October.
