AP French 2016-2017 - Travail d été French AP students, Here is a list of items you should have prepared for the first day of school. Activites from the APprenons textbook, Chapter 0: a. Read Moi et moi et moi and respond to questions 1-6 on page 3 of the packet. b. In the section labeled Identifiez le register qui est défini., you choose the register that is used in each description. Choose soutenu, courant, or familier. c. Read Le profil d Arnaud and answer questions (7. Avez-vous compris?) d. Read Le Profil de Haylie, answer questions (8. Réfléchissez) and do ex. 9 (Ecrire) write a Facebook profile in French based on the models given to you of Arnaud and Haylie. e. Read Télé Réalité p. 10 and answer questions (7. Lire) f. Read the text on the right side of p. 10. Identify sentences in the text that are 1. In the passé composé; 2. In the imparfait; 3. In the futur proche (you can write the number 1, 2, or 3 above the sentence in the text).
g. Read the list of prefixes and suffixes on pages 11and 12. h. Read and guess the English equivalent of the words at the top of page 12. i. Read and guess the meaning of the words on page 13. For the second set, guess the meaning then create a word family for the word. j. Read the selection on pages 14-15 and answer the multiple choice questions on page 15. 2. Duolingo continue up to the futur simple. 3. 5 activities with summaries from TV5 INSTRUCTIONS FOR TV5 WEBSITE VIDEOS: 1. GO TO WWW.TV5.ORG 2. Look for LANGUE FRANCAISE; click on Apprendre le français 3. Look for box on the right APPRENDRE AVEC L ACTUALITE 4. Go to 7 Jours de la semaine and choose a video to watch 5. You may do the exercises for any level ABOVE A1 and may watch the video repeatedly 6. Complete the exercises and click VALIDER to check your answers. The site will check your answers and give you the opportunity to correct your mistakes. Go to the highest level possible for each video s activities/questions (progress once you answer first set correctly) 7. Print your exercises for your log, AND write a summary describing what you learned from the video (do your best to write the summary in French). 4. Imperfect packet: Review pp. 45-50; take notes on expressions on page 50 and use of depuis on page 51. Complete Quick Practice pp. 52-53 (I- IV)
Also recommended: - Review any grammar on www.lepointduflet.net OR www.conjuguemos.com to reinforce your skills: verb conjugation (present), passé compose, imperfect, and/or future. FRENCH AP SUMMER WORK DUOLINGO INSTRUCTIONS: I recommend using Duolingo on your smartphone. If you do not have a smartphone, you can also use a computer. Using the app on your phone: 1. Go to your App store and download Duolingo (it is free!) 2. Open Duolingo 3. Log in, or choose Get started you must be logged in under a username and password in order to save your progress 4. Choose French 5. Set goal to regular 6. Select are you a beginner? 7. Complete units (there are usually 4-8 lessons per unit) Using a computer: 1. Go to www.duolingo.com 2. Click get started 3. Choose French 4. Click start tour 5. Set daily goal as regular 6. Choose your path as Basics 1 7. Create profile to save your progress (email/password) 8. Complete units (there are usually 4-8 lessons per unit Going into French AP, you must complete the Duolingo progress tree up to and including Future. You must complete all the units leading up to this lesson. You may not skip any. This will take time, and you should plan to complete 2-3 units per week in order to finish for the first day of class.
