In this publication we give emphasis on our Faculty s engagement in research activities, training programs as well as students achievements in various fields. Therefore, it gives us pleasure to publish before you our e-newsletter of October. During this period, our faculty members and students have involved with their keen interest in various competitions, research and training programs. STUDENTS ACHIEVEMENTS 10 Our two faculty members received Best Professor Award in October. One of our faculty members received the Reviewer Award in September. During this period, most of our faculty members organised industrial visits for the students. Our faculty members also organised various workshops for students which proved beneficial for the students. Industrial and educational visits were organised for the students so that they can get practical knowledge of their subjects. On the occasion of Teacher s Day and Engineer s Day, our students organised various competitions such as Talk War, Idea Presentation, Coding Competition and Aptitude Test. Our faculty members also organised guest lectures and workshops which were conducted by faculty members and professionals from outside prestigious institutions. FACULTY S ACHIEVEMENTS e-newsletter 2 0 1 7 Dr. Sudhir Lande He received Best Professor in Electronics and Telecommunication Award at 25 th Business School Affaire and Dewang Mehta National Education Award (Regional Round). This program was held on 26 September in Pune. Dinesh Zende He received Best Professor in Information Technology Award at 25 th Business School Affaire and Dewang Mehta National Education Award (Regional Round). This program was held on 26 September in Pune. Dr Nirmal Sahuji He worked as a Reviewer of Proceedings of the 15th Python in Science Conference (SCIPY ), Austin, Texas, USA. He received Top Reviewer citation from the organizer of the Conference. WORKSHOPS AND DEPARTMENTAL EVENTS ORGANISED Department of Mechanical Engineering organized MECHFEST-2K17 under SAEINDIA Collegiate Club on 27 and 28 September. The Program was inaugurated by Principal Dr. M G Devamane. There were seven events covered under this MECHFEST-2K17 Program. This program proved beneficial for students to show their talent and skills. It was coordinated by Mr. Suraj Kumbhar and Mr. Akshay Bhapkar under the guidance of Dr. C S Pathak. 2 0 1 7 Participants and Faculty Members during the Event Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering organised a One-Day Program on account of Engineer s Day. This program was organised on 15 September. This program was organised in association with EESA under the banner ELECTROVAGENZA. Main events organised under ELECTROVAGENZA were as follows. 1. Decode : Coding competition 2. Pranya : Aptitude Test 3. Encuesta : Technical and General Knowledge Test 4. Techquest : Technical Treasure Hunt Inauguration of the Program by Principal Dr. M G Devamane Students during the Activities in the Program

Department of Information Technology organized a One-Day Seminar on Digital Marketing in association with Indian Society of Technical Education (ISTE Students Local Chapter). This Seminar was organised on 18 September. Resource person for this seminar was Mr. Ranjit Kolkar (Developer COVA Healthcare). This program proved beneficial for the students. 2 0 1 7 Mr. Ranjit Kolkar during the Seminar Students during the Seminar Department of Information Technology organized a One-Day Seminar on Digital Marketing in association with Information Technology Engineering Students Association (IESA). The resource person for this seminar was Mr. Saurabh Pandey (Founder of BrandVeda). This Seminar was organised for Third Year students on 15 September. This Seminar proved beneficial for the students. Mr. Saurabh Pandey Students and Faculty members during the Seminar Department of Information Technology in association with Information Technology Engineering Student Association (IESA) organized Idea Presentation Competition on the occasion of Engineer s Day. This Competition was organised on 15 September. Twenty students participated in this Competition. Dr. Dhirendrakumar Sharma, Dr. Samadhan Morkhade and Mr. Vinay Nagalkar judged the Idea Presentation Competition. First prize winner was Akansha Mishra (TE, E and TC Engg.), second prize winner was Shivtej Mandve (TE Mech. Engg.) and third prize winner was Jadhav Sangram (BE IT).

Students while receiving their Prizes and Faculty Members INDUSTRIAL AND EDUCATIONAL VISITS ORGANIZED Department of Civil Engineering organised an Industrial Visit to Urmodi Dam and its Hydroelectric Power Plant on 1 September. This industrial visit was organised for third year students. 70 students along with faculty members visited Urmodi Dam in Satara. The purpose of this Visit was to study various aspects of Hydropower Generation. Mr. D G Patil and Ms. S R Deshmukh along with Mr. Amol Bhosale planned the Visit with the help of Engineers from Urmodi Dam. Prof. D G Patil and Prof. S R Deshmukh coordinated this Visit. Project of Urmodi Dam Students at Urmodi Dam Project with Faculty Members and Officers

Hydroelectric Power plant and students with officers at site Department of Civil Engineering organised an Educational Visit to Common Effluent Treatment Plant on 15 September. This visit was organised for BE students. The destination was Common Effluent Treatment Plant at MIDC, Kurkumbh. Students carefully studied and observed the complete process of waste water treatment, functions of its components and practical methods to find out characteristics of industrial waste water. Officials at CETP guided the students about various ways to treat Industrial waste water. Dr. R J Patil, Prof. U T Jagdale, Prof. J C Bhong and Mr. Kiran Taware coordinated the Visit. Department of Civil Engineering organised an Educational Visit to construction of residential building on 7 September for Second Year students. Prof. S B Walke guided the students during the visit. The destination was Sahyog Society at MIDC Road, Baramati. Students carefully studied and observed the complete process of construction of building, functions of its components and differences in theoretical and practical methods. Brickwork Site Brickwork on site in Stretcher Bond Department of Civil Engineering organised an Educational Visit to Pre-stressed Concrete Sleeper Plant on 15 September for BE students. Prof. U J Jagdale, Prof. R R Khartode, Dr. R J Patil and Prof. J C Bhong and Mr. Kiran Taware accompanied and guided the students during the visit. The students carefully studied and observed the complete process of cable pretensioning, concreting, curing, etc. Officials at the manufacturing plant guided the students regarding various aspects of railway sleepers. Students and Faculty Members during the Visit

Pre-stressing of Cables Curing Tank Concreting Work Department of Civil Engineering organised an Educational visit to Hot Mix Plant on 22 September for BE students. The Visit was coordinated by Prof. G N Narule for the subject Transportation Engineering. Students got an opportunity to visit Hot Mix Plant and gained knowledge of different aspects of bitumen and aggregate. Students studied and observed the complete process of mixing of bitumen with aggregates. Students and faculty members during the Visit Department of Civil Engineering organised an Educational Visit to Baramati Airport for BE students. The purpose of this Visit was to study different aspects of airport. The Visit was coordinated by Prof. G N Narule. Students got an opportunity to visit airport and gained knowledge of different aspects of airport. Students studied and observed the components of aircraft, its functions and runway.

Students and Faculty Members at the Visit Place Department of Civil Engineering organised an Educational Visit to Water Tank at Rui, MIDC in Baramati. This Visit was organised for BE students on 13 September. Prof. C B Nayak and Prof. U T Jagdale guided the students during the visit. STUDENTS ACHIEVEMENTS Department of Computer Engineering organised a Training Program for BE students. This training program was organised during 23 to 24 September and delivered by RayKor (Pune Based IT Company) at VPKBIET Campus. The purpose of e-newsletter the training was to guide final year students for their projects. Total 15 students got sponsorship from RayKor for their final year projects and attended training program. Mr. Mahesh More (IT Engineer, RayKor) conducted the training program. She participated in Mechfest competition which was organised by Mechanical Engineering Department. She got the First Prize in Talk War in MechFest. This event was organised at VPKBIET Campus during 27 to 28 September. He is a Second Year student from Department of Information Technology. He participated in Mechfest competition which was organised by Mechanical Engineering Department and he got the First Prize in Mech- Fest. Avika Bhatt, Anjali Kale, Shweta Bankar (BE, IT) participated in WEB- MELA 17 which was organized by International Institute of Information Iechnology, Pune in association with I2IT ACM Student Chapter on 30 August. Akanksha Mishra She is a Third Year student from Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. She participated in Idea Presentation Competition and she got First Prize in this Competition. This Competition was organised on 15 September.
