INFORMATION ABOUT INTER-INSTITUTIONAL / INTERDEPARTMENTAL PROGRAMME OF GRADUATE STUDIES MSc. MOGMAT "PETROLEUM -OIL AND GAS MANAGEMENT AND TRANSPORTATION» DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT AND ECONOMICS) AND THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING AND POLLUTION CONTROL ENGINEERING (FACULTY OF ENGINEERING ), TEI WESTERN MACEDONIA IN COOPERATION WITH AZERBAIJAN STATE UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS A) General description The Graduate Studies Program (GSP) awards M.Sc. entitled Petroleum oil and gas management and transportation in accordance with the provisions of Greek Law 3685 / 2008 (A 148). The main purpose of Inter-institutional graduate programme (GSP) entitled Petroleum oil and gas management and transportation is the specialization of higher education graduates in the fields of technology and economics of oil production and natural gas units. 1

Conferred academic title The GSP awards M.Sc. entitled in English Petroleum oil and gas management and transportation. The Postgraduate Diplomas are awarded jointly and co-signed by the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (Baku City, Azerbaijan) and the TEI of Western Macedonia and in accordance with the provisions of Greek Law N.3685 and subsequent additions and amendments currently in force. The enrollment of students takes place at the TEI of WM therefore qualifications are Greek and recognition from DOATAP (Greek NARIC)is not required. Admission requirements On GSP -MOGMAT are admitted after choice objectives all graduates of Business and Economics Faculties, polytechnics and schools of technological applications of higher education institutions (HEI), domestic or congener recognized institutions abroad, as well as other specialties in accordance with the Interinstitutional/ interdepartmental Committee Decision. APPLICATION DOCUMENTS 1. Application Form (posted on the GSP-MOGMAT website) 2. Degree or Diploma 3. Detailed rating degree or diploma 4. Detailed CV which must state the VAT number of the candidate and a bank account in IBAN format in which, in the absence of choice of the candidate the application fee will be refunded. 5. Published works - research activity. 6. Two letters of recommendation from professors, members of faculty or a professional body. 7. Language Certificate in English. Candidates who do not possess a certificate in English will be tested in English by a committee appointed by the Steering Committee of the GSP. Sufficient knowledge of the English language can be also guaranteed by the possession of a degree or postgraduate studies in an English speaking country. 2

Two photos For the selection of candidates the evaluation criteria and the corresponding percentage points awarded are the following: 1. The overall grade of the First Degree (20%) 2. Existence of second degree or postgraduate degree (10%). 3. Research activity (except dissertation / thesis) of the candidate, as evidenced by publications or certificates and certificates for participation in research programmes or any scholarships (10%). 4. Possession of Proficiency certificate or equivalent level certificate proving excellent knowledge of English (10% points). Candidates are admitted if possessing English language level B2 degrees - LOWER certifying good knowledge of the English language [a) Cambridge - FCE First Certificate in English, b) Michigan - ECCE Examination for the Certificate of Competency in English, c) Edexcel - Level 3, d) KPG - B2, e) TOEIC - score 505-780]. Candidates who do not hold a certificate of proficiency in English will be tested in English by a committee appointed by the of the Inter-institutional committee of the GSP. Sufficient knowledge of the English language can be guaranteed by the possession of a degree or postgraduate studies in an English speaking country. 5. Evaluation of two reference letters (5%). 6. Professional experience of the candidate in management positions in private or public companies or public entities in connection with the GSP - MOGMAT. (5%). 7. Evaluation of the interview committee of the GSP - MOGMAT (40%). The evaluation of prospective students who have timely submitted the required documentation is done in three phases. 3

Phase A: Preliminary The Special Inter-institutional Committee (E.D.E.) of GSP - MOGMAT controls all of the required documents and reserves the right to request explanatory information on documents which have been filed and / or request a certification of knowledge considered necessary for attending the GSP. Phase B: Thereafter, the Committee of P.M.S- MOGMAT forms the ranking of the candidates by forming a table for the selection of students. The list of successful candidates is announced to the Secretariat of Business Administration and the Secretariat of the GSP-MOGMAT with relevant protocol. Candidate graduate students, may submit their objections within a period of 5 working days. Phase C: After examining the objections the SIC of the GSP - MOGMAT forms the final evaluation board. Successful candidates are invited to respond in writing within five (5) working days, whether they accept or not their inclusion in the graduate programme. No response from selected candidates, within the above time limit, equals to rejection of inclusion in the programme. In such cases, the Secretariat immediately informs the candidate who is next to the rating range of the relative success list. Educational and professional goals The object of the postgraduate programme is divided into two areas: a) The highly training of management and organization executives of petroleum distillates utilizing units and gas. These specialized executives will meet the oil companies requirements and the transnational transport companies gas sales requirements. b) The highly technological training of organization managers and operating plants and transportation of oil distillation products and natural gas. 4

The educational and professional objectives of the Inter-institutional GSP - MOGMAT are: 1. To specialize executives in the management of gas and oil industry and their transportation by crude oil and gas pipelines. These specialized executives will meet the needs of Greek industry and gas transport system (TAP). 2. To specialize executives in project management and operational reliability of oil pipelines, gas installations and their storage. These specialized executives will meet the needs of projects of storage facilities reliability as well as related issues of gas pipeline (TAP). 3. To specialize higher education graduates in the fields of economy and oil business and gas. These specialized executives will be able to meet the needs of the Greek economy as well as those of the international market, as they are evolving and shaping in the European Union and the global economy. 4. To promote highly qualified executives, with developed capacities and skills so they can meet the practical and scientific needs of the oil and gas market. Also, to render them capable and competitive in national and international environment. 5. To train human resources in the administration and practice of transnational companies, as leaders and general managers for the strengthening of national oil companies taking into account the extroversion of Greek economy into the European and international market. Upon completion of the Master programme, the graduates will meet the needs of the Greek economy and the international market in the organization and operation of gas plants and oil product distillation. As a highly qualified staff, they will meet the practical and scientific needs of the oil and gas market, and will be able to be deployed as leaders and managers in Greek, European and international markets. 5

About career prospects, graduates of the GSP-MOGMAT may be deployed as administrative and technical executives in transnational, multinational or national gas and oil companies in Greece, Azerbaijan and other countries. Nowadays the most known companies engaged in the management and transportation of natural gas and oil are: The Consortium of Trans-Adriatic Natural Gas Pipeline (Trans Adriatic Pipeline, TAP-AG). The Azeri parent company of oil and natural gas SOCAR (State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic) in Baku or in its subsidiary in Greece SOCAR Energy Greece. The Greek companies DESFA (Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator (DESFA) SA, Motor Oil Hellas, the Hellenic Petroleum Group SA, Anangel Maran Tankers and Maran Gas, Gaslog Ltd, Dynagas Ltd, Almi Gas SA, Dryships groups, Navios group, Nikos Tsakos group, Marmaras Navigation Ltd, the Gas Supply Company of Thessaloniki SA, etc. As in other transnational and multinational oil and gas companies in Greece and abroad (BP, Statoil, Fluxys, Enagás and Axpo Group, etc.). B) Curriculum Description The duration of the M.Sc. is four (4) academic semesters, full time including thesis preparation. His/her master thesis has been approved, presented and positively evaluated. Examination and assessment regulations / scoring For each course provided with theoretical instruction form, continuous evaluation of the student's performance includes: oral presentations of individual work, group work, written reports and participation in the final examinations. Attendance is mandatory for at least 80% of the course. The characterization of student performance in class is defined as follows: 0-3,9 "wrong", 4 to 4.9 "poorly" 5 to 6.9 'good', 7 to 8.4 "very good", 8. 5-10 "excellent".
