Withdrawing a Student After Census Reporting Prepared by the Office of the Registrar August 2017 Revised October 2017
General Information Students who you report as not attending during the Census Report will be withdrawn with a grade of W7 by the Office of the Registrar After the Census Report, through the published Last Day to Withdraw With a Grade of W, you can withdraw the student by using the online Withdrawal Form. This tutorial provides information on completing and submitting this form. After the published Last Day to Withdraw With a Grade of W, you must award the student a final grade. If you feel there are extenuating circumstances for withdrawing the student after the deadline, you must submit the request through the Associate Provost or Dean. Please note the online form is being revised to simplify the withdrawal process. Expected implementation is spring 2018.
Withdrawal Codes When you submit the online withdrawal form, the code that defaults is W4. This is not a grade; it is an internal Registration Status Code that is entered when the withdrawal is being processed. The codes allow administration to track the various withdrawal reasons. In almost all circumstances, the student will receive a final grade of W. Select Withdraw A Student Request
Complete the Online Withdrawal Request Form to Withdraw a Student Through the Published Last Date to Withdraw It is important that you correctly and completely enter your EFSC email in the withdrawal request. Once you submit your request, you will immediately receive an email copy of your withdrawal request. If you do not receive an email response, notify the Office of the Registrar at registrar@easternflorida.edu Address is not required Students who have been withdrawn may no longer attend the class.

If Admissions is unable to process the withdrawal, they will contact you.
What Happens Next? Once you submit your request, you will immediately receive an email copy of your withdrawal request if you correctly and completely entered your EFSC email address. After the published withdrawal deadline After the published Last Day to Withdraw With a Grade of W, you must award the student a final grade. If you feel there are extenuating circumstances for withdrawing the student after the deadline, you must submit the request through the Associate Provost or Dean. Submit the request via email, including course number information, student name and ID, and the reason for withdrawing the student instead of giving a final grade. The Associate Provost or Dean may request documentation or additional information before considering the withdrawal.
Reinstating a student who has been withdrawn The evening a student is withdrawn, you will receive an email notifying you of the action. The student will also receive an email. Once a student is withdrawn from the class, he/she may no longer attend the class. If the student was withdrawn in error, immediately notify the Office of the Registrar at CensusReporting@easternflorida.edu and request the student be reinstated. Provide course and student information. If the student was withdrawn and later requests reinstatement, and you agree to allow the student back into the class, notify the Office of the Registrar at CensusReporting@easternflorida.edu and request the student be reinstated.
